I was expecting some kid being stupid, not a news post. Games are the superior form of media and are not going anywhere.
Yeah you're right there. Video games have become more or less the most used enterainment out there now.

On-topic:So what if video game sales are dropping? The whole economy went to hell ages ago, everything else is dropping in sales as well as video games anyways.

Impossible. We will always have a need of killing zombies, and unless medical science and the NRA want to get off they're lazy asses and get some work done, it will not die.

Sure, sales are slumping, but sales are down much less than overall retail sales as a whole. It's not recession-proof, but it appears to be recession-buffered.

Video games are NOT dead. However, casual games may be nearing that end. The only people still buying games regularly now are hardcore gamers and those few guys that buy 1 or 2 football/basketball games a year.

Video games will survive as long as there are the mechanics to play them on. There may be a reduction in the Big Name titles but the media, the industry and the consumer base will still be around.

On the subject of the various challenges that the videogame industry is facing: the obscene cost/length of development, the growth of piracy, et cetera..... A challenge is little more than an opportunity in disguise. Those that recognize it for what it is will be able to take advantage of it and come out on top. Those that don't...

I mean, come on. Didn't the industry face an actual decline just before the NES came out?
