I can't answer that since I have an obvious experimental bias. Either I want to be attractive and see myself as more attractive or I think I have self-esteem issues and view myself as ugly. Disregarding narcissism and its antithesis, humans tend to view themselves as more attractive than everyone else. You literally do not see in the mirror what everyone else sees. However, the majority of people who have given their opinion on my outward appearance tend to describe me as "cute". I don't know what that corresponds to on a number line or in comparison to anyone else. All I know is the small number of people polled say I am "cute".

But that's true. I suppose I do tend to see myself as slightly better looking than the average human being. And seeing I'm a recovering egocentric, I tend to lean towards the answer #2, which then results in people telling me to stop being coy. Which then leads to me not knowing if they're being nice to me or sincere.

I've been referred to as "that ugly guy" before. I don't think I've ever been told by anyone that wasn't my mom or my sister that I was either handsome or cute. Oh wait, there was this one time at a liquor store on vacation where a woman said something to that effect, like "Aren't you just adorable." I was 16, I think. I definitely was a cute little kid, though. I've also been told that I look like John Lennon from a lot of different people and I also often get mistaken for someone else.

My personal opinion changes depending on what mood I'm in. Sometimes I look in the mirror and marvel at the incredible stud in the prime of his life looking back at him. Other times, I see a malformed nerd with a crooked face, thick glasses, and a bad haircut. To be honest, I'm not sure if I'm good looking or not. I'm not fishing for compliments. I really don't know.
