If we are talking about strangers : I'm terrible with making eye-contact and speaking to them. My heart flutters, my gut-clenches, and I get pretty nervous. They always ask if I can speak up for them, even when I thought that was the right volume. I think a lot of people think I'm being rude and ignoring them, but it's just that making eye-contact makes me incredibly uncomfortable. I try, but I'm sure it looks weird from their view. "Um,..thank you!" *eye flick**eye flick**eye flick**eye flick* I'm surprised someone hasn't stabbed me with a butter-knife yet out of frustration. lol Then again, I'm not a very social person, and I don't like being around a lot of people. I like to be at home with the spouse and the dogs. Anyone who comes over without letting me know at least a few hours beforehand,..it just feels like a severe privacy invasion. Like someones entered my cave.

I can talk with my friends about a lot of different subjects and laugh and what-not, especially if I've had a drink beforehand, but making eye-contact is still a bit rough for me; even with them.

I'm not generally seen as awkward, although with the rare people I'm shy around I probably seem awkward. You asking the girl where she got her dress from isn't awkward, don't worry :)

I've never been called awkward, but I've done some things which could be considered so.

Person I'm meeting for the first time: Hello. *offers handshake* I'm Bob.
Me: *accepts shake* Hello, Bob. *walks away*

Person at programming class: Hey, what's your jumper say?
Me: Ein Weg, ein Ziel, ein Kollektiv.
Person: Cool. Know what it means?
Me: *nods head*
*Silence*
Person: *makes "so, what does it mean" gesture*
Me: One way, one goal, a collective.
Person: Oh, cool. Rammstein?
Me: Yep. *walks away*

My social skills suck pretty badly, so yeah I'm pretty awkward most of the time.

I'm this awkward. Literally, this is the only thing currently in existence that can articulate more than words how socially uncomfortable I can be. That said, this is only around people I don't know very well, but I'm ok around people I've known for a while. I also feel more obnoxious and loud around other people, and that sort of sucks for all parties involved because it probably only serves to make me more uncomfortable, and therefore, more obnoxious.

Nah, i was a bit akward when i was in my early teens but i thankfully managed to snap out of it. In fact i'm the one that talks too much, sometimes i feeel irritated because i have to lead a conversation all alone and the other one simply nods and says yes.

Silence for like 3 more minutes.
Me: My names Adrian. What's yours?
Her: Are you hitting on me?
Me: You accepting?

You accepting? made me laugh so much, and i don't know why, thank you good sir.
OT
I'm fine in small groups, but in large groups I often have nothing to say or cant get a word in i'm silent unless specifically talked to, except when something rediculously stupid has been said.

Nope. Can't say I have.

I'm a pretty extroverted guy, so I don't really have trouble around people and can avoid awkwardness.

I'm awkward around people who place social what-nots above everything else.
So, a large portion of people my age.

But, say, put me in front of someone mature, intelligent, and comfortable with themselves, and I'm as relaxed as could be.

I'm quite awkward in situations where i don't know anyone like someones party that you went with a friend to, but when you get there the only person you know is your friend.. Especially if sober

As Hell.

Then I mellow out and become "That" Guy. The guy who cracks the joke and get on your nerves.

Yes, I have been told that by my friends, family, people who I'm just meeting for the first time, etc.
Screw people

Not many people are going to say "Did you know that you are really awkward?" because that would be really fucking awkward.

Only around girls mostly.
Other than that, I'm ok in most situations

I wasn't laughing. It was like watching college stand-up.
How? I mean you were involved, I mean if you said it was like performing stand-up.
