Well, I'm guessing I might am getting it...? I haven't really enjoyed any Call of Duty games since Call of Duty World at war, every Call of Duty since have dissipointed me to be honest. The last CoD game i bought was Black ops. I'm guessing that atleast one of my friends will perhaps buy it on release, and I'll might try it out and see weather or not It's any good.

I'm pretty sure that It won't be that good to be honest, but It's atleast worth trying.

I won't, tired of arcade shooters. I am not saying that omgzomg it must be bad, it is just that I've played COD 1, 2, 4 and BO1. I loved all but the last (though it was entertaining with nazi zombies for a short while) I am just tired of the same formula.

I might on christmas. It seems... okay... Then again, they all look like that until they actually come out. Even with all its bs, MW2 was fun as hell. I don't know how or why, don't ask, but I really enjoyed it. Black Ops was boring to me, and MW3 sucked ass to me. That's probably why I'm not picking this up on day 1. I also hate Activision's guts, but sometimes I put my hatred aside, depending on the product. I guess we'll see.

Prolly not.
I imagine my brother will get it for 360 and I'll just nick his copy for a bit if I want to play it.

I haven't played the last two CoD games and unless it gets rave reviews I'm not playing this one. Unless I get it for free; I generally will try it out if it's free.

Been bored of the COD series since about MW2 time, but BlOps 2 at least has quite an interesting premise going on so I might end up buying it. Certainly not day 1 though, I'll wait for the prices to drop substantially first.

I am getting it on day 1. I enjoy Treyarc's COD games more then Infinity Ward.
I was going to say I prefer IW to Treyarch so I wouldn't be getting it on day one. Then I noticed your avvy, and saw the opportunity to call you a heretic. Heretic. Committing all that heresy and shit.

OT: I'll pick it up at some point. It hasn't captured the level of interest for me to want to buy on release day, but it still looks pretty cool.

Yeah I'm getting it. I pre-ordered it a few months ago. Mostly for the zombies mode mind you but I'll still probably play the standard multiplayer a bit and I'll definitely do the campaign.

I gotta say between the new zombie mode and the flying squirrel sequences from the trailer's I'm intrigued. MW2 was good but harsh on the multiplayer, BlaOPs had a pretty decent multiplayer but the campaign was meh. MW3 was a lame except for survival mode.

Probly not gonna get it day one, but may consider it later.

yes 100% I think Treyarch recognizes the need for change and I think they are trying top prove they are the new leaders for th COD franchise after the Infinity Ward incident. Also I read somewhere that sledgehammer games is getting there own COD series, " yes that makes 3 now" So that activision can change it into a 2 year development cycle per Series. That should leave room for some innovation.

Well I'm not gonna buy it the last and only cod game I bought was MW2 which I really liked for the campaign NOT THE MULTIPLAYER!!!.
Every other one I just borrowed, Black ops I'm going to be honest I liked for the campaign but MW3 just didn't click I didn't play it for more than 2 hours.
I'm kinda over the whole Military FPS shit now I used to defend it but now I just can't anymore an FPS has to have more than just SOLID shooting for me so if I hear good thing maybe I'll borrow it.

Lord no.

Mind you I haven't played Call of Duty since 2 (some might say the last one with a soul, also, I mean just 2, not MW2, or whatever the fuck).

The only mutliplayer gun-wank game I respect is Battlefield, and for good fucking reason as they are insane, other than that I think I'd rather play VtM:Bloodlines over and over again rather than play through any modern-gun-wank-FPS's single player campaign (including Battlefield. I tried with 3, no dice, D.I.C.E.).

Also, didn't they hire an American war criminal to consult on this game?

Add that I can't purchase this game on simple moral grounds, in addition to my petty "this shit is dumb" complaint.

Also... Didn't this company fire the leaders of the Dev. team on the good games?

The fuck people, so your loyalty isn't to the people who made the game, just to the publisher and the NAME ON THE FUCKING BOX?! Ever wonder why the quality dropped after MW2? (At least I think it was MW2... That I even remember this blows my mind)

I strongly considered it until I saw the price of the DLC pass thing, which cost as much as the game did. $120 as a discount price for the full package? Forget that noise. Back to blowing all my money on supporting JRPG developers, ho!

I personally am on the fence about it.
Perfectly summarised.

On the one hand, I want to support Treyarch; they still give a damn about the PC community - Infinity Ward and Activision stopped caring a long time ago, but Treyarch still do dedicated servers and decent ports, amongst other things, and I want to encourage them to keep doing that.

On the other hand, I don't want to be putting money into Activision's pockets. They're not quite as bad as EA, but as part of the Activision-Blizzard conglomerate monstrosity, they're not particularly good for the gaming industry either. And their DLC practices. Let's not forget those.

As a game, it looks like it'll be pretty solid - I quite like the Pick 10 idea, and the campaign sounds like they've put a lot of work into making it good; I like the sound of the divergent story and the multiple gamestyles you can play through missions with. And zombies sounds like it's been taken to the next level.

But I'm suspicious; Modern Warfare 3 sounded like it was going to "descend from the heavens and lead us to the promised land", to quote an entirely different review by Yahtzee, and then... well, you know. I'm worried that Treyarch haven't died a hero, but have lived long enough for us to see them become the villain.

At the end of the day, I'm not going to pre-order it or buy it on day 1, but I might very well get it. Only time will tell.

/rant

Edit - and I forgot to mention the community, and the fact that I already have a bunch of fine first-person shooters.

I haven't bought any Call of Duties since Modern Warfare so I don't know why I'd suddenly start now. What exactly is going to make this one so special?

I'm not gonna say no, but I definitely won't be getting it on release. I'm sick of the Call of Duty franchise tbh; we've played the same game for so long it's just gotten a bit boring and pointless.
That, and there are other games I want more.

There's no sense of satisfaction to be had repeating the same meaningless task for hours on end.
That may be true for you, but judging by the sale figures, a lot of people do enjoy that. A lot of people can put in 100s of hours & still enjoy it.
