Yes.

I have a few gallons of gas and a gas-powered generator with a power output of about 3000Watts. I'm good for about a week.

Aside from being utterly utterly utterly butterly bored, I could cope.....to a degree

Prepared?

For the chance of a lifetime? For sensational news? For the coup of the century?

Or for murkiest scam?

OT: Why yes, my teeth and ambitions are bared.

I'm ready for that. It won't bother that much if it's just for two days. I'd probably just be more productive during that period.

This thread makes it sound like 2-3 days is something really awful.

We have a gas stove, a gas car, and lots of batteries. I also have a battery pack for my DS. Yes, I'm prepared.

That is what iphones , i pads , hand helds and books are for . My iphone my psp and nintendo ds can keep me entertained for about 2-3 days before the battery life dies out . After that i would prolly need to read books , but i hate books so yeah i'd sleep all day .

Shelf of books + baseball gear (with a diamond barely a block away) + a bbq = my friends and I would have had the best time in that power outtage. So, yes, I'm ridiculously prepared. Unless it's raining, then I'm going to be bored to near death.

I live in a third world country... some of you people sound so silly! I could survive, I would NOT enjoy it, but eh, not the end of the world. And people don't riot because they don't have power, they do so because the government ain't fixing their power.

It've happened before, it's pretty much a non-issue.
Pretty much this. No power....go read a book or hang out with friends or family. 2 days without power is nothing.

FIRST thing to do in a power-outage:
RUN to the freezer and eat all the ice-cream!

But yeah, once my roommate didn't pay the bill {Gas/Electricity combined, YAY}, so we had to make it through a few days without any. It isn't that bad... as long as you have a few good books and enjoy walks in the park *g*.

I have a gas stove, my fridge is nearly empty and my pantry is full. So I'll be well fed atleast. Might kill myself without internet access though.

Since Mr. 10% Asif Ali Zardari took over, power outages have become much more common. For one, perhaps two months the Karachi Electricity Supply Company was on strike. I thank God that my family got a gas-powered generator just before then other than having a expensive to run but really big second-hand Diesel powered generator. Unfortunately, in my country, a generator is almost a necessity.
I and most other Pakistanis hope and pray for a military dictator to take over quickly because the elections are rigged and the people in power "democratically" have little to no interest in solving the people's problems.
In short, however, Pakistanis are always prepared for a power outage.

meh, it is nothing. When I was younger my father and I went to the countryside, and we were without power for 2 to 3 weeks. I actually enjoyed that a lot. Granted, it is not an outage, and we were prepared, but the point is that you can live without electricity.

Not at all. We got one flash light at home and it's rarely working... and that's the only thing we have that would help during a complete blackout I think. Even when the power is only off briefly I start climbing the walls. Remember last time it happened;
Was sitting at my computer when all of sudden every electronic device just died.
No panic.
Went to the living room and figured I'd just watch some TV until it passed(I felt really stupid afterwards).
Lots of panic.
Realised the only thing I could do was read a book or go outside.
Screamed in panic.

Longest ten minutes of my life.
