But then you're not playing the game you bought and it should probably be called something else as the vision of the game from the developers and story tellers that intrigued you enough to buy it has now been overshadowed and overpowered by taint.
I will play the game through normally like I did with the other TES games and Fallouts.
It's after that I get to modding.
It's the main reason I do buy games like that.
Don't get me wrong, the TES and Fallout 3/NV were okay games but being abe to add my own content is what makes them fun for me.
There is only so many times I can use the same weapons or live in the same houses or wear the same armour before I want to create my own.
Being able to do whatever I want in a game turns that game from okay to great.
This is why I don't buy many games at release and wait for price drops, they just don't last me. Games I can mod the hell out of keep me going for a damned long time.
There is only so many times I can see and do the same things before they bore me and Bathesda are fantastic at giving us the freedom to make our own content.
Skyrim is no different. We've already been told they are releasing the tools for modding so after the game has been played it will be time to add my own content.
Call it tainted call it what you like but modding takes a game that gives me 50+ hours of fun and turns it into a game that gives me over 1000+ hours of fun.
I still spend a bit of time on Morrowind every now and then due to extra content people bring out for it still.
I'm not going to say all mods are fantastic. As everyone who uses them knows you do get a lot of low quality ones released. Retextures of armour and weapons that make them look awful and the like. But you do get quite a few gems that improve your experience quite a bit.
