I've noticed many people I know around where I live act differently on the internet, which got me to thinking does this happen a lot? I usually keep my personality the same on the internet and keep lying to a minimal but the question is, are you that person you know when on the internet?

The discrepancy between the perceived self and the real self is a void wherein fears subsist.

Whether or not these two entities are identical or similar is the real question, isn't it?

Nah man, I'm joking.

I try to act as consistently as possible, I'm enough of a 'people' person to not need to change the way I act to suit others.

I'm insane when on the pc...

So yes :D

But that's just my opinion and I may be wrong, you are all ways the wrong person to ask if you act differently in certain situations.

I talk more on here...

In the other life I lead, I tend not to do it so much in case it comes out wrong.

I'd like to think I'm not any different on the Internet than I am offline, I know I don't try to be. I know I tend to be more outspoken online than off, but otherwise, no I don't think I'm any different.

I'm esstenialy more confident online, but that's about it really. maybe it's the fact that I'm not actually talking face-to-face.

Yes. I am always cantankerous and belligerent.
I respond to people talking to me with glares. I ***** more than I converse. I insult and mock people for little to no reason.
I am basically a complete asshole all the time.

I talk a little more online, but only when others are talking. Same as in real life. I tend to join conversations, not start them.

I tend to be a bigger jerk when talking to someone I don't know and will probably never meet

I am, most of the time anyway. Maybe I seem differently as I act differently in real life as I would in a game.

I know a lot say that people act differently in games however I think it's the other way around and that people act differently in real life but when there are going to be no consequences to any actions a person takes online then their true self will be seen. That or they might just be a dick for the hell of it anyway.

Your sense of humor is wry.

In my online existence, I consider myself rather flat, only characterized by my ability to think and my knowledge on various subjects which largely do not inlclude pop-culture, video games or tv/movies to which the mass-media-assumptive references the vast majority of the internet may suggest I might be aware of. I also have a slightly cumbersome method of lexicon, as my phrasing follows my thoughts to the best ability that they can; I think far faster than I can type, speak, sometimes even remember.
Out of anything I could be caricatured as, the most accurate would be the Engineer from Team Fortress 2, minus the multidisciplinary doctoral mechanical knowledge, plus size and glasses.

In real life I'm very regular and blend in with the background, although I usually have lots of interesting stories from my life to tell.

I'm different online.

Online, I'm much more willing to voice my opinion, more talkative, and much nicer to people.

Offline, you'd be lucky to get a "Hello" from me.

I'm EXACTLY the same offline as I am online haha, which some people find annoying since I literally type how I talk>:].

But yeah, I mean I'm a little shy in person but soon enough I'm like BLAM. Wheyhey.

I'm a little more outspoken online. I'm pretty much silent in real life, until I get to know you.

I'm pretty much the same. It's more that I act different around my family than I do around my friends and when I'm doing stuff online, since most of my family are centered around facebook (which I avoid like the plague). But now that my family sorta watches my youtube videos, I'm more self-concious of what I say, and like....censor myself before I say something stupid that would destroy a nice little portion of their positive perceptions of me. XD
