Best show ever? I think so.

I just got into it since due to Fox's shitty marketing, I never knew about it until it was being canceled. I've watched the whole series twice in the last three weeks or so, and I can't get enough of it.

So many subtleties, it really is brilliant.

I loved the foreshadowing with Buster's character (spoilers ahead):

He loses his hand to a seal in the ocean later in the series, but in an earlier episode he takes back his chair shaped like a hand and says "I've never missed a hand so much".

Then, later in the series, right before his hand is bitten off, he is waiting for an Army bus to pick him up on a park bench. On the bench, the words "ARMY OFFICES" are painted. However, Buster's body is partially obscuring the letters on the bench and it says "ARM OFF".

Any other fans here?

Much as I like David Cross, I couldn't get into the show. Family members being cruel to one another doesn't make me laugh. I guess there must be something wrong with me.

The first two series were absolute bliss. When they discovered they were being shit-canned in the third season, they just started throwing everything they had against the wall and seeing what would stick.

Arrested Development was too smart for the general public, it didn't involve trading wives, super nannies, or game show involving a giant foam wall flying towards you

also, it wasn't hosted by Jeff Foxworthy...

I miss Arrested Development, so much it hurts, Man what a great show, it was a brilliant kind of humor and the characters were genius <3

I don't know why, but I was secretly hoping this was in regard to Livin' In Oblivion [http://livinginoblivion.wordpress.com/2008/10/14/an-arrested-development/]'s latest. I have watched a fair bit of the show, and it's pretty funny, but I find it a little repetitive. The characters are rather predictable, and I can sort of see why it got canceled. It's still better than pretty much all of the comedies on Fox these days though.

No, the reason it got cancelled was because it was an American show with a very British sense of humour...

I demand new episodes. I mean, if it maintains any of the complex eroticism of the French original... I like the way they think.

"Oh my god its the cops! And a... construction worker?"

That and

"Oh yeah, the guy with, with the $6,000 suit is gonna hold the door for the guy with the $20 suit? C'mon!"

I don't think it was so much that it was too intelligent, rather that you had to pay attention to it, you couldn't just watch while eating dinner. Unlike say Everybody Loves Raymond, where you can just wait for the laugh track, chuckle and say "Oh thats familiar,"

I too demand more episodes... I've got it! We'll have to teach the head guys at fox a lesson... possibly involving a man with one arm.

Woah woah woah, there's still plenty of meat on that bone. You take that home, add some broth, a potato. Baby, you got a stew going!

Great, underappreciated show taken away before its time. At least there's a movie in production, which was all thanks to Jason Bateman pushing it if you listen to what the other cast members mention about it.

For those who may not have seen it, Hulu has all of the episodes streaming free (makes work bearable to sit back and watch my favorite episodes). http://www.hulu.com/arrested-development

"Oh Tobias, you blowhard."

I love that show. I heard rumours of an arrested development movie coming out in 09!

I read that every member of the cast was now on board aside from an indecisive Michael Cera who, according the article I read, felt it would be better to let the series die while it was still on top. However in an interview promoting Juno, Bateman cornered him jokingly saying that they'd do the movie if he would just make up his mind and he said he'd do it. Although the context takes a lot of the reliability of that quote away.

Here's to hoping. They did leave their options open at the end, so I think they could very well make a decent movie out of the remaining plot that hasn't been resolved.

"A Hollywood icon who says

No, I don't see it as a series, maybe a movie...?"

We live in hope.
