I bet he also thinks Twilight made Muse big....*shudder* (actual comments on Youtube [go figure] suggesting Muse owes alot to Twilight)
this makes me laugh, being a fan of muse well before twilight got its angsty teen claws into them, i can see the funny side of it. the best part is if these fans knew anything about twilight, it is common knowledge that stephanie meyer is a muse fan, if they were not that famous she wouldn't be a fan and similarly not commisioned them to write neutron star collision. back to the subject of space marine and research, don't write a damn article if you aren't clever enough to revise the subject matter first...
There is no shortage of ignorant fans in this world.

Edit: Found the REAL link

I have no adequate words for how pained I am that the author of that article, Dean Takahashi, is still employed and will still be allowed to continue writing. I can only shake my head in sadness.

Unlike him they have no escape from reality.

I'm calling them both out for ripping of Robert A. H.'s military science-fiction masterpiece Starship Troopers. Hell, he didn't even have to call them space marines, he was better than that. Mobile Infantry for the win!

... the Dwarfs (which makes me want to stab the Games Workshop writer that decided to go with that instead of Dwarves) ....
Rick Priestley and the Warhammer team - and they went with dwarfs because it's the correct English plural of dwarf. Tolkien made up dwarves, dwarven and dwarvish just to be different.

Pft, so? Warhammer was never a third-person shooter before, what does it matter that the franchise has been around longer?
I give unto you "Fire Warrior," a Warhammer 40K FPS. With Brian Blessed and Tom "The 4th Doctor" Baker.

wow...he explained his ignorant, bias ranting in such a coherent and correctly spelled article quite unbecoming of internet stupidity.

i think that actually makes it worse. he has the sense to pay some degree of attention to what he types, but not the sense to realize that he is basically saying the lightsaber ripped-off halo's pasma sword.

Oh delicious irony born of ignorance.

Basically this guy has gone out to say how much stuff Warhammer 40000 has "ripped off" from Gears of War, apparently unaware that 40K has been around longer, and that Relic has been making a conscious effort to differentiate the gameplay from Gears of War.

The comments section hasn't been very kind to the guy who wrote the article. So, if you're looking for a funny read, delve in.
They also fail to realize that Gears has absolutely nothing to do with space marines. The only thing related to space in the franchise seems to be the hammer of dawn. Beyond that, I have yet to see Marcus go into space to fight bad guys or heard that he came from somewhere else to the planet he's on now to fight. He's also not a marine. Hence, he is not a space marine.

That is hilarious. I was waiting for someone to bring that up, and I didn't think someone would but... Wow.
I've had to correct people on here a few times about it. "Oh God! Another game like this and it even has Space Marine in the title and giant armour!" Sometimes people need to be punched in the face and shown a copy of White Dwarf.

Chainswords came before Lancers. And I don't see an explosive machine gun or thunder hammer in Marcus' hands.

Saying that Space Marine ripped off of Gears of War is like saying Dawn of War stole its RTS mechanics from StarCraft.

Lulz! I also get tired of people thinking Warhammer 40K started with Dawn of War. No one seems to remember that it was originally a tabletop game, in a similar fashion to D&D.

I was too lazy to read through the entire article but I would have to say that the author doesn't really know what he is talking about. As far as I can tell by game play videos of WH:40k, it plays nothing like GoW2. For one, you don't really utilize cover much less rely on it like Gears. Also, there is a much greater emphasis on melee combat and fast and frantic combat. Gears was rather slow paced compared to how 40k looks. 40k has also been out longer.
