To US citizens...do that many of you really have a gun in your house? Is it pretty much everybody like we are led to believe? I'm aware that it may well be more common in some of the southern states, but really...how many of you don't have a gun somewhere in the house?

I guess this depends on the region, but where I live, yes. You could throw a handfull of pebbles into a crowd and have a damn hard time hitting someone who didnt own a gun. I own five, but mostley because I used to hunt and was militia for a while.

in most parts of canada yes. some parts of canada i have traveled to outside my province, no.

For the US, is it really true that you can acquire a gun license at the age of 14, like I've heard or was that a ridiculous rumour?

If it is true I can kinda understand why school shootings happen now...


I mean, 18 to have sex (As far as I'm aware) 21 to drink (Again, as far as i'm aware) but 14 to be a lisenced Gun-owner...

You're right about the other two ages, but what do you mean by gun license? If you mean a hunter safety card stating that you have successfully completed a hunter's safety course and know how to properly handle and use a firearm, then yes, I got mine when I was twelve and I have shot at nothing but targets with no danger to anyone in the vicinity.

Yes and no. We did use it along time ago but not anymore.

They still make them periodically. Here. Last time was in 2003; my grandpa gives them to me whenever they get printed.

Is there any hatred between the majority of Canada and what my friend calls "French Canada"?

Yes. There is a fair bit of animosity between French and English Canada, which is to say, Quebec and everywhere else. There's also a certain hatred of the eastern provinces by the western provinces. Basically, the west doesn't feel fairly represented in the Federal Government. And most people (especially in the west) feel that the government favours French Canada and are resentful.

Some of them are quite nice, yes. Some of them are obnoxious, but that's the same anywhere.

First of all, it's 'eh', only one h. Second of all, some of us do, some of us don't. I do hear eh a fair bit, but,it depends on your region and social class.

Some do... but the person I know who does it I am fairly convinced is missing a few gears and screws upstairs. But that's one out of the couple hundred I have come across. The one time you drop it at the end of a question around an american they do jump on it like a fat kid on cake though.
