But I still don't understand what is so wrong with that. Quite a number of threads are merely author soapboxes, at least I started this one to maybe help educate some people. If I wanted to make a manifesto about why squirtle is an under-rated pokemon, that'd be perfectly fine (unless it somehow counts as a versus thread). There isn't much discussion value, yes. So? Out of the dozens of threads on the first page, there's one you don't like, which you can tell from the title. How does that bother you?

One more thing. This thread isn't called "I'm a voraphile, let's talk about my every-day life" you'll notice. That's irrelevant, because this thread is about a way that I'm different. I have a weird fetish, so I make a thread about that. An astronaut would make a thread about his job. If I made a thread saying "I have a weird fetish, let's talk about my job" that'd be just as bad as an astronaut saying "I have a cool job, let's talk about my underwear preferences.

Thanks for answering my question, and do people treat you differently when/ if they find out?
I've never really had a big "you're a what!?" scene. For my fiends, it'd probably result in some light teasing. From family, it might make some awkward dinner conversation.

...You know what, I'm not even bothered. Compared to the pedophilia thread a month or so back, voraphilia is positively mild by nature.

this has probably been asked before, but waht do you find to be more... appetizing? People with a lot of meat on the bones, average people, or thin people?

Does skin colour and origin of their birth play into the flavor aspect?

I like these threads because it makes my occasional porn fetishes seem much less weird. I always found the concept of being eaten alive (swallowed whole) fascinating, but never in a sexual way. Seems too uncomfortable. Ever read the whole Boba Fett in the sarlacc pit expanded universe stuff?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_Empire
Not really my cup of tea, being a pred and all. There was a different expanded universe story about Dengar's sort of girl-friend being eaten (and then regurgitated) I believe.

I am a macrophile. That means I am sexually attracted to giants, more specificly female giants, giantesses. Many like a violent, downright cruel giantess, but I like almost specificly kindness. Not that there is anything wrong with the majority, which is violent. I have no problem with the vore community but one. Whenever I look up the commen keywords, "Gentle Giantess" I always get plenty of vore. Vore writers and artist, writers espiecially, always start, tag, or throw in as a plot device "gentle giantess". Many of us complain, but there are so many vorophiles and not as many "gentle" fans. Have you ever even heard of this problem? Many haven't, so I was just wondering if you have, and if you agree with me.
I do have sympathy, but I haven't heard of the exact thing. Is there a tag exclusion feature on whatever site you're using?

Needless to say, analysis of such things from a Freudian perspective is always controversial and never all that conclusive. That said, it seems to me that one could draw on the metaphor of the act of swallowing as having some similarity to sex, the throat serving as a vagina, and the entity being consumed serving as the phallic entity. Only here the act is fully embodied, at least for the male entity.

To hypothesize even further, one could say that might account for why so called "preds" are not generally male, most males don't have vaginal fantasies. This might explain the fantasy for the "prey," to literally become a penis in the act of coitus, strange as it might sound, would probably feel overwhelmingly good.

As for the "pred," it does seem an inverse on the typical female role. To put it in the tastelessly blunt wording of Freudian analysis, here the act of "swallowing" becomes an act of empowerment. While there are many exceptions, and they are becoming more common in our society as patriarchal society has begun to decline, the historical role of the female in society has been submissive. But embodied in the fantasy of the "pred" is a reversal of these power roles. The act of coitus becomes one of dominance in which they, quite literally, devour their prey.

What would you say, OP, in response to a Freudian analysis of this nature?
I don't really think so, the whole 'prey' angle seems fairly submissive, and the attraction could be from what they see as the ultimate service they can perform, or from the 'preds' perspective, the most dominating action performable.
That makes more sense, although unwilling preds is a thing.

Hmm, I knew I was a bit boring in the sexual interest department, only really being maybe a bit of a submissive and all. Always fun to learn about different kinks. Does anyone IRL know about your fetish? If so than how did they respond?

Also, ever seen Grimm Love? I know its hard vore and you like the soft type, but I saw it last year and it at least seems to be connected to your, personal interests.

I like a bit of meat on the bones, but not too chubby.

Not usually. Some people like that sort of thing, but not so much me.

I've gotta go, I'll answer any more questions tommorow.

You know the phrase "the brain is the sexiest organ?"

Sexuality is actually just as much about psychology than biochemistry, if not more so. As far as why people are into that sort of thing, there are two explanations I can think of:

1. Like many fetishes, it came about through classic conditioning. Example: a foot fetish is probably the most common fetish indulged by mankind- both men and women may have one. In most cases, it's because during the earliest sexually formative years of the individual's life, the inanimate object (foot, table corner, car, etc.) somehow got roped into the "what constitutes sexy" part of that person's brain. In the case of a foot fetish, a hypothetical example may be that the person's first crush made contact between their foot and the person's genitals through the clothing, perhaps under a table. If that happened while the person's psyche was still figuring out what turns it on, feet will forever be associated with sex.

2. Freud said that everyone goes through five psychosexual stages of development: oral, anal, phallic, latent, and genital. In each stage, a different part of the body is the "pleasure center", with the exception of latency, which is more of a limbo period between phallic and genital. I'm not quite an expert on Freudian psychosexual theory, but I do know that people often get fixations on certain stages. That basically means that if, say, a person has an oral fixation, they'll enjoy and be quite apt at giving and/or receiving oral sex. So anyway, yeah. Oral stage. May have something to do with it.

Pic semi-related.

Are you open about your fetish in real life or do you keep it a secret?

So basically, have you come out of the closet?

Ok I am dying to ask a few questions and please don't take any of these the wrong way as I am genuinely fascinated.

1. How did you discover this about yourself, its not something you'd encounter much in everyday life, did you read the story of Zeus's brothers being swallowed by their father or something?
2. Do you have a GF and if so would you or have you discussed this with her? what does she think/ how do people normally react?
3. Do you get turned on eating jelly babies?

This thread reminds me of new vegas, inside the ultra luxe casino.

Anyway, my question is...if you had a relationship with someone, would it be important that they are also into vore? And is it something you would find easy to talk about?

I can pick up the slack on some of the questions if you want, OP. I'm kind of surprised this topic is as popular as it is. Vore is probably one of the stranger fetishes out there though.

I'm also a voraphile and a male pred. I'm a furry in addition to this. Vore is somewhat popular in the furry community. If I had to make a guess, I'd say that it's due in part to furries identifying with animals and enjoying a form of primal domination.

Well, you kinda answered all of my problems.

I don't like threads that are there to stand in as a soapbox for the author because there isn't much discussion value in them. If it serves as a personal spot for you to stand and drone about a topic, while others are only really there to crowd around and ask, I don't care to read for it. This one simply served as a slight breaking point for me on that matter. I see this style of thread too frequently, with too little to define them, so for once, I actually said that I didn't appreciate the style of them and actually don't see the value of them. It's funny, because only a few days ago, someone was in a similiar situation, where they were the only ones really speaking out against the style in which things were presented. The OP ragged them out (far harsher than you I might add, the OP really did sound like an ass during it, and not simply responding to what had been said). I then quoted the guy, and said that I had agreed with him, and that the style things had been presented in was misleading. Ten minutes later, I recieve a PM and friend request from him saying he thought he was the only one who had felt that way.

As for your final paragraph there, you're kinda missing my point. I am saying that while you appreciate vore, there is little distinction between that and other interests. Boiled down, the thread pretty much comes to a personal preference on a rather niche subject. If it was something more in tune with, "I'm in the military, ask any questions you have about it here", that at least dives into something that I can not experience or get answers to questions as easily. If I wanted to find out about vore though, I could simply type it up on Google, and find a wide variety of examples and distinctions far easier.

So, summary, bothers me simply because I don't like the style to begin with. Isn't the content that's annoying, but the manner in which it is presented. Offers little discussion, and in my mind, only a bit of solid information that isn't made from a personal view point on it. And on the note of judging them, normally, if something like this is presented to me and it's not my thing, my reaction is to simply shrug my shoulders, think it's odd to myself, but realize other people like it. Same opinion I have with those that are furries, or those that buy sports games every year, since I don't believe there isn't a whole lot to understand in the first place.

Now it's time for me to eat my chicken dinner... Mhm... BBQ...

I am quite intrigued to read this. I did not know that such a fetish existed and it's always nice to learn something new about human behavior. Of course, this is rather "out of the norm", but then again, what is normal?

I don't really have a question in mind as I type this; I just wanted to state my opinion.
Although I might inquire as such: Does your family and friends know of this? Are you a proud voraphile?

Wow, this is new to me, only ones I knew about where fetishes about feet, big people, little people, and animation.

So, do you have a partner, if you do, do they know about this and what do they feel about it?
