Doe anyone else want to see a game that actually bases itself around assassinations?

here's my scenario, you are an elite assassin in the near future. The world has changed and now big corporations run most of the governments in the world (yes, I just saw The International. So what?) You work for one of these companies disposing of politicians or anyone else who poses a threat. You have to actually PLAN and CARRY-OUT the assassination, (unlike in Assassins Creed where you do 3 missions, stab a guy then hide 'till the guards forget you killed him.) Then you find out about their sinister plan to [use imagination here]. So you quit, but then they try to kill you because you know to much, and after escaping you find a group of people willing to help you try to take them down.

(I just came up with this as I was browsing up-coming games and thought I'd post it to see if anyone was with me on this idea.)

Shoot, I was just about to say that. Yeah... Hitman is basically like that, you can kill the target any number of ways.

Sounds like a good idea, except it would be hard to program enough ways to assassinate someone so it actually feels like it isn't scripted, or repetative, like using the same method to kill all of them, they'd have to make it so that the companies would be on a lookout for you if you made a display of earlier assassinations, or that they'd stay away from accident prone areas. Wow, that'd a fun game, if anyone could make it, you'd replay it so many times just to see how people would react...

Um, not to sound harsh or mean but this sounds kinda generic. I mean the whole "O NOS! I'M WORKING WITH THE BAD GUYS! I MUST CHANGE SIDES!" has been done before. Alot.

Who doesn't?
Jeremy Clarkson?
Oh god, that made me laugh. He probably wouldnt though.

OT: One of my favorite assassination games was Tenchu Z, though the target never really moved much. There were however multiple ways to get to the target.

The boat or The ship, i can;t remember the name but it is an online game where you and a bunch of other people are on a cruise ship, and you have a name. You have to kill that person before the person with your name kills you. Basic gist

My friend suggested this to me: Absolutely no story. You get the message "Kill person X" then nothing. It's a semi-open world environment, your target is in a building in front of you, and you can choose how to get to him. Climb a building next to your target's and jump through a window, take out a guard, put on their clothes, sneak in, get close and stab him, snipe him, hijack a helicopter and fly it though the windows in the building and hit him, etc. Endless possibilities, absolutely no story except "Kill these people." THIS is how assassination games should be (in my opinion).

I have a better idea.

How about you find out they're going to do something horrible...
...And you don't quit.

A profesisonal killer isn't going to switch to "the good side" just because his former employers are "doing something bad."
deffo .. they're in it for the payday ... pro hitmen couldn't care less about puppies and children getting their faces melted ... the only time they'd care is if they're the ones getting screwed or someone's going after their top employer E.G: the people who DO care about puppies and children getting their faces melted

Thats a good point, what is evil to a person who kills for profit?

Max before you answer I said "Kills for profit" not "kills for fun".
