He looks smug and sarcastic by that facial expression. And the way he's holding out the hidden blades makes me believe he's a very confident individual. I'm liking this new guy by what I see. Let's hope they tweak the gameplay a bit more.

He is more badass. Hopefully they won't cock it up with a stupid stereotypical italian-a voice-a!

Hey, what if
Ezio is another ancestor of Desmond, leading to a third game where you play as Desmond in the future-esque setting?

Anyone noticed he has ALL his fingers intact?
That just means he knows how to move fingers away from the sharp things, unlike thicko Altair.

Well he looks like exactly the same guy so I'm not bothered by it, it was a logical step anyway. Actually I would of preferred it if they moved away from the Altair look a little. They look too similar.

Anyway, I couldn't like Altair in the first game. There weren't enough cut-scenes involving him for me to get any idea of his personality. All I knew is he was "badass" and virtually nothing else. Without me seeing any emotion he just seemed generic and unlikable.

I think that's what everyones thinking.

[spoiler/] assuming they still have Desmond it makes sense that he comes from a whole line of assassins so they can use his genetic memory to tap into the minds of all the assassins previous to him. However judging by the description and the fact that the new guy has all his fingers this one may well not be an assassin at all. He's just the ancestor of one.[/spoiler]

Ezio is a confirmed ancestor of Desmond.

Uhmm.. I'm guessing that cos it's set in the (correct me if I'm wrong) 1700's (or somewhere round there) Altair snuffed it. I mean, he couldn't swim so I doubt he's gonna be able to live for 700 something years :)
1496, to be exact. And, as a bonus, Ezio can swim. Which, considering it's rumoured to be set in Venice of all places, would be a great help.
That reminds me, did you know the bottom of the map is water? I found that out on several occasions when I glitched through the god damn land scape. I hope this game has more variety than the first.
That's... unfortunate, although I can't say it has ever happened to me.

Odds are, they'll use another American voice actor, perhaps the same as the actor for Altair, still going with the "Animus puts you in the place of your ancestor" thing.

Well, I'm thinking that losing his ringfinger wasn't necessary for the hidden blade, it was just a sort of initiation into the Assassins.

Altair was never really with it though was he? Killing people that looked after him, working for evil people that try to enslave the human race... oh, and he couldn't swim and sounded like a complete fucktard.

I prefer the "accident while cutting cheese" explanation for it.

Dual blades and still having all of fingers automatically make him better than Altair.
And it looks like he's only wearing half a cloak.
AND HE'S SMILING! o_O

I like him already! :D He looks similar to Altair, so I presume the game stars Desmond rather than another person entirely.

I don't like it, Altiar looked graceful and silent (even through he was a master blade wielder), the game cover should promote discretion and the character should not look ready for a brawl. And why 2 hidden blades.

Haha loving the cape.

Personally I reckon that Altair will kind of be in the game, it's another ancestor of Desmond (Who at the end of AC1 was 'bleeding' Altair, hence the Eagle eye) so maybe you have Altair in your conscience, like a tutorial type thing?

Of course if that's true then game 3 is gonna be crowded with all these different personalities in Desmonds head.

Wow two hidden blades. I could kill two guys at once. Never again would I ever have to choose.
