No number in the title this time? I thought the rule was that if it followed a new character, and wasn't on a portable console, it got a number. What is this Fountain rules? This is Fountain rules isn't it?

Also, maybe this is just because I've only played the first four games (1 through Revelations) but France feels too similar to Renaissance Italy to really get me excited about it. Ya, different time period and probably lots of things I'm to ignorant to consider (Murica Fuck ya) but I was kinda hoping for something more exotic like Feudal Japan or ancient Egypt or Industrial Revolution Russia or maybe even set it in modern day finally, a return to Western Europe doesn't exactly get me excited.

I agree with this.

Most of Western European Architecture is kinda dull for me, mostly because I live here. I live in York in the United Kingdom and I, for one, was not gobsmacked by the gothic architecture of Dark Souls, because that's like going in to the city centre for me.

Sure, it seems that mostly North Americans are fascinated by this stuff, but it's all old hat in my opinion. Eastern or Northern Europe are better, as are Africa, the Middle East (a bit more Prince of Persia than AC1) and the Orient. Also, South and Meso America, numerous island colonies and, the oft overlooked, Indonesia (well done Just Cause 2, and yes, I know it wasn't technically Indonesia).

Paris seems so "meh", plus they can't drive for toffee. I expect horse RTAs if this goes ahead.
