People who think all Americans are fat, uneducated, gun-toting, ignorant, arrogant, xenophobic morons.
But arent they!?

Kidding, kidding. My boyfriend is american and most of my friends are too and they are alright. But you gotta admit there is some ground in truth for that stereotype.
Then I guess, according to your statement, that all Britons have horrible dental and can't cook for shit. As well as all Blacks are criminals and love fried chicken and watermelon.
Errr how come you read "there is some ground in truth for that stereotype" as "every stereotype is absolutely true hurr durr"?

When people ask me from where im from and when i answer Illinois, the next question is either are you from chicago, or some variation on hows living in chicago. Look if i was from chicago i would say so people know what that is, i say the state because i live somewhere small that i doubt people who live 2 hours away know where i live is, just like how i don't know where they live is.

That Im an Atheist since I hate religion. I view Athiesm like a religion, and I do not simply not believe in anything. Hating moral injustice and bigotry in the name of a neglectfull and abusive father figure does not mean I am an Athiest. It means I dont accept things just because you say so.

The dangerously common misconception that Christians stand in the way of science. Off the top of my head. Christianity is responsible for the father of modern science (Galileo), the father of modern astrology (Galileo), the father of all genetics (Mendel), father of modern philosophy (Descartes), father of accoustics (Mersenne), father of modern chemistry (de Lavoisier), father of electricity (Faraday), father of geology (Steno), father of stratigraphy (Steno), and father of modern epistemology (William of Ockham).

I hate how people assume that girls/women are casual gamers. ;) When I was at school, a University tutor came to my school (an all girls school) to promote a course in video animation. He mentioned games, then quickly said, 'but I doubt anyone here is interested in that. Girls don't play games.'

I also hate how people assume that their friend is in the right and has told the full story. When people argue, I always try and search for the different sides to the story. If a friend comes to me and I only receive their's, I will try and suggest how the person they are upset with may feel.

So true! Everytime I mention what music I like, everyone looks at me weird, as if I don't 'look the part', so to speak.
'Why are you wearing that cross around your neck? To be ironic?'
'No, because I'm a Christian..'
'Then you can't possibly be into metal!!'
I get quite the opposite.

When I tell people that I listen to metal. They just assume that I am a christian.
I can only blame one group for that stereotype.

1.) The metal I used to listen to (Heavy, Screamo) influenced others to listen to it. The others tended to listen to christian metal.

Damn the people I infuenced!

It's a less serious one, but when people assume everyone from Texas owns a ranch and rides horses to school.

Because that's west Texas you're talking about. The other directions are very normal cities. Especially Austin, which is like a smaller New York but with less angry people.
Yeah but would you like to own a ranch and ride horses to school? :3

I hate the assumption that because im 15 I must be a murdering fire starter vandel baby rapist!

Well OP I would suggest not doing self harm because even if you failed at something it is not a reason to inflict harm on yourself. I have failed plenty of things in my life and rather then looking to blame anyone (Including myself) I feel its better to accept that something went wrong and move on try to do better next time.

OT: People assuming high IQ means I can do absolutely everything when it comes to being smart like maths or writing essays.
People assuming it doesn't snow in Australia even if they live here. :/
On the other hand I love when people think I ride a kangaroo to school and have a pet dingo.

That belief in a creator must mean the person is christian / islamic / whatever. It is entirely possible to believe in zeus, or the spaghetti monster, or your own personal god, or whatever. I like to believe that belief manifests itself as it wills and as such we don't need to assume that everyone who believes follows a large, organized religion.
