I think Famitsu gave it something a series of scores of 9,9,8 and 9. It met with a great critical reception.AC10 said:Guess I'm the only one who thinks it will be bad.

Okay, approach number 2, mister pessimist. The team behind the game. They have a great track record.AC10 said:They also gave Final Fantasy XII a perfect 40.RedEyesBlackGamer said:I think Famitsu gave it something a series of scores of 9,9,8 and 9. The presence of the echoes of subconscious thought splayed against the framework of a dream mostly.Fightgarr said:It's still incredibly confusing to me how these sheep-men, tower-climbing dream sequences fit in with the rest of the game, but that doesn't stop me from still being incredibly interested in what this game is presenting.
This really HURTS (Believe me if you could see my collection of ATLUS games you'd understand why, faithful? At the very least....) but I have to agree with you. I was really hoping for something like the greatness I experienced with the original Persona or the originality of Etrian Odyssey but this is just giving me the entirely wrong vibe. They describe gameplay as "Block puzzle combat." and they just did a DS game like that last year. The relationship "dynamics" don't really grab me but then maybe they made a relationship conflict game for people who didn't get to deal with that in physical reality? Yet why would you want to take the WORST aspects of a relationship and put them in a game? Sorry ATLUS I won't be coming with you on this one, besides if I want weird but cool I'll play My World My Way, and I swear it's not just that you're competing with the Green Lantern game that month. Well, mostly.believer258 said:Still looks like nothing more than a glorified porn game, complete with a good plot and an excuse to have some gameplay via the dreams.
Before you flame me, know that I don't view this as a bad thing, I just don't think something that advertises itself with erotic images and, uh, "horror" gameplay elements is trying to do anything other than show boobs and scare the shit out of you.
Wait a quick minute - hasn't every cheesy slasher film ever tried to do the same thing?
Essentially, what I'm trying to sugarcoat is this:
Necromancer Jim said:"Our game has breasts... Wait, shit! We meant depth! Our game has depth!"
Yeah, this looks like it is going to be a smoldering pile of shit.
Interestingly enough, I didn't guess "rape" until my fourth try.DanDeFool said:Still, putting "Rape" on the guy's t-shirt? Not exactly very subtle in the imagery department, Atlus. If I walked around downtown wearing that shirt, I would be lucky if I got away with just getting spat on.
Could you please leave actual data driven opinions out of this. These folks are trying to just act cool and bash on something.mireko said:Besides, if you've ever played an SMT or Persona game you'll understand why we're excited about this.

I was like, "Is that... 'rage?' The arrow can make the stroke for a G I guess. No wait, the middle of the heart kinda splits, so it could be a V. 'Rave?' So this guy can party hard in pink, maybe? What the hell else can fit in there to make a word? C? Why the shit would he have a heart take the place in 'race?' Hold on, there's P! Rap-- oh. Ooooh. Classy, this guy. >_>"
I think it will fail because it looks like a game just based around sex appeal. It sorta annoys me that Atlus is doing this.....thing instead of a new Persona -_-AC10 said:Guess I'm the only one who thinks it will be bad.
