So now the key item are scarfs?
Last game was glasses(P4), and ties for the one before(P3)
Ties? Ties in P3? I think it was the Evoker gun...

Not to mention - the only way Shin Megami Tensei's Persona games and Devil Survivor are related are the same series name and more or less same monsters (DS version has a bit less, if I remember). And lack of relationships and arcanas. Basically THE ONLY thing in common between those titles is the franchise ;d

That being aside.... WOOOOOHOHOOO AAAAWW YEAAAHHHH

Shhhh....you had me at "Shin Megami Tensei." Well, plus I really enjoy Devil Survivor.
I'm more of a fan of the Persona series.

That leaves me with two questions.

1. Why does the protagonist that's in the 1st and 6th picture look like a slightly recolored and reclothed hero from Persona 3?

2. Where should I start with the rest of his series?
Persona games are SMT games. Same universe, same demons, same general feel.
Actually, DS games have a bit different monsters from the PS2 ones. 90-95% of them are same, but... I'm being picky now, aren't I. I'm just too happy that they're making more Devil Survivors.

As much as I love Atlus (and believe me, I do), I'm not going to give this much consideration until I hear more about the soundtrack. The one for the last game was painfully obnoxious and redundant.

It totally was released over here. [http://www.amazon.com/Shin-Megami-Tensei-Survivor-Nintendo-DS/dp/B001QTW2HS]
im from the uk, it wasnt released here so i had to import it from America which is a pain in the arse and expensive.
I'm from the UK, I own a copy I bought at GAME.
well i don't know how, there has never been an official UK/Europe release.
Yes there has, because I bought it. Would you maybe like a picture?
However it was stocked, it was sitting on a shelf in Highstreet, Poole.

there there hasnt been an official release over here, look it up i swear there hasnt. and i didnt say i couldnt get it over here at all, but its hit and miss, none of the game shops in my area stocked it and i have friend working in a few of them who told me there werent planning on stocking it, but in some places they also got some of the american copies but they were low in number and didnt come over for a while after realese, so instead of searing round country for one i bite the bullet and imported. and no i dont need a picture, because quite frankly that wouldnt prove anything. i also have a copy so i didnt say it was impossible to get one over here, just that it was a hassle for me

this is nice but the whole 7 days to survive thing make me yern for another "The world ends with you" game. I just beat it, read all the secret files and saw the secret ending. Best DS game ever. never has there been a game about angles and deamons that was as good as that game.

Well I suppose its entirely possible that my GAME shop had been asked to stock some copies from the US? Might be, but since there is no region lock it would be hard for me to tell. I'll just take your word for it I suppose.

Apparently DS2 has a larger cast around this time and a new relationship system - here's hoping that it'll go further than Persona's S-links and actually have your relationships affect the outcome of the story. Also wondering what links it'll have with the first game and with that, which ending would have actually been considered canon.

To anyone who complains about the character design, I shake my fist at thee and say: Nice thighs!

EDIT: Daichi = Ryoji?
Io = Metal/Devil Horns symbol + red coat = chaos?

Fuck all the bland boring tat dominating the Xbox, Ps3 and Wii right now. It's games like these that make me value my psp and DS over any other games console I own ('cept PS2, best back catologue ever)

Why does this matter? We all know it's only going to be available as a stupidly expensive collectors edition that only gets a few dozen copies printed. How does Atlus get so much media exposure and fanboy love for ridiculously unbalanced games that no one can afford?

Seriously, whenever I see an Atlus game in a shop, it's always pre-owned in a big cardboard box with art book and soundtrack CD. Sure, they made one legitimately excellent game in P4, but that doesn't mean every game in their library is a classic. You know why Level 5 got away with this when they made that game with the guys that did Spirited Away? Because they'd already established a mainstream name for themselves as not only the guys that made Dragon Quest relevant again, but also the guys who made the Professor Layton series that EVERYONE knows about.

Bit of a rant, but yes. If Atlus actually put some effort into marketing and making different games like they did with 3D Dot Game Heroes, rather than just making pretentious dungeon crawlers with 'crawl' being the operative word, someone besides us would actually care about Devil Survivor 2.

I'm not gonna pick up Overclocked because I don't have a 3DS (sadly), but Devil Survivor 2 doesn't look that bad. I really liked the first one, and played it like 6 times for all the endings. I like how they're sorta adding S.Links into DS2. Sorta like Persona. The only thing that I don't seem to like so far is that the characters look a lot more childish than the first Devil Survivor...and not that badass.

Considering the last imagine has a demon with a pyramid head... as that a demon in the first game or does is seem like they're trying to make a pyramid head (silent hill) demon
Actually, it's just an average demon that's appeared in most of the games, its nothing special.

If it's US then the cover will have a ESRB rating on it - http://www.wired.com/images_blogs/gamelife/2009/06/devilsurvivor.jpg

I'm pretty sure it hasn't been released here either, was waiting for it. Just had a search on uk retailers and none of them have it listed at all. Only amazon.co.uk which is selling the american copy on the amazon marketplace.

It's so sad that ATLUS aren't great with european release dates. Thank Universal Media that i'm playing P3P right now, although i'm impressed that they've finally decided to release it EU in the middle of April.

I'll focus on obtaining the first Devil Survivor for now, thank you very much!

It should say on the cart which region they're from. If you look at the front of the cartridge, where the image is, at the bottom is a code, NTR-XXXX-XXX. The last three characters represents the region code, e.g. USA is America, EUR is Europe, UKV is United Kingdom.

Since I seem to like Persona 3, have heard good things about Devil Survivor, and want to get a 3DS (albeit quite a bit down the line; drop $50 and remodel, we'll talk), I'll be looking into both of these.
