Are we that progressive and smart? No offense, it's just a stereotypical joke towards us.
Cannibalism is allowed in Germany if both parties are in consent. What fun we Europeans are at parties.
Really? That's a new one. Another thing learned. - Packed up his bags -
I might have lied though, showing that I, as a European, am free-spirited in nature.

Friends don't let friends vote for Tony Abbott

I was all set to vote Liberal this year, but now the internet filter is all but dead and buried, I think it may be safe to stay with Labor and their guaranteed 100mps to 93% of the country internet plan.

I'm not really big on politics, but from what people are saying here, it would be ideal to have the Greens in power. I planned on voting that way from the start. Abbot may think of games not having an R-rating as silly, but ultimately his opinion in the matter is as important as mine (ie. not at all). In the end, it comes down to the attorneys-general.

However, having the prime minister agreeing with your stance as an attorney-general makes your argument a lot easier to back up. To me though, I know Tony Abbot. He's just pushing for the gamer vote by saying this after seeing the marginally effective pressure from Gamers 4 Croydon in South Australia who may have actually had something to do with Michael Atkinson being booted from his position. With the election in only 7 days, anything you say at this point people agree with is a vote for you.

as good as that sounds, still doesnt make up for wanting to get rid of the NBN. labor still gets my vote
NBN and Filter, or Otherbroadband plan that will not be as good (but at only 1/6th of the cost) and no mandatory filter?

Desicisons Desicisons....
Or, since the filter will be blocked in the senate by the Liberal party and the Greens, it's a choice between NBN and a filter that won't ever pass parliament, or internet 80x slower (NBN is going to be 1Gbps now, the Liberal internet plan is 12Mbps peak) with no plan to ever try to introduce a filter.

First they drop the filter, now they support an R raiting?
This doesn't make up for their failings in most other areas (The NBN is a faling in this area), but it does make him/them seems less evil.

abbott is a massive xenophobe, also he didn't know what a 'peak speed' was in relation to internet speed. hes a fossil, hes out of touch and he hates gays and women. he can go rot for all i care. im voting greens and sex party anyway, theyre the only parties that arent concerned with political bullshittery and instead are looking out for the australian public.

also imo the NBN and abbotts plan are both terrible, ones too far and the others too little.

I don't believe him. He's such a slimy weasel, I don't think I could believe anything he says.
I don't believe anything that any of them say, Labor or Liberal. Take the recent 'Western Sydney rail pledge' about finishing the Parramatta to Chatswood line. Not only has this been planned and subsequently canceled, but it is reliant on the State Government coughing up dough they clearly don't have.

There is more smoke and mirrors to this election than a Sony E3 press conference.

Abbott's idea of standardising ratings is probably to get rid of the R rating altogether, not extend it to games...

ah the Mad Monk...sorry but you're already NOT getting my vote. Since you say that we dont need faster internet??? WTF is wrong with you! We are already a decade behind the US when it comes to internet and you're going to stop our fiber optic broadband improvements???

Even if you do get elected in you will just ignore the R18+ debate anyway.

Nice try Abbot but you need to try harder..

It's not up to him. He has no power over the Attorneys-General department. No one does. That's why the system is so broken.

As much as I want the lack of classification to go away, I'd rather suck the devil's dick than let Tony Abbott become the prime minister. Besides he says "we'll look over it", political rhetoric for the win there ain't it? If you thought the current party was conservative, than wait until you see the Liberal Party which is led by Abbott, a man who looks like an urn with ears.

I'm sorry; an R rating for video games is not worth scrapping the NBN. Not in this day and age where the internet is king.

Lets see,

We may get an R18+ Rating..... but then,

We loose the NBN (National Broadband Network)
High probability of him bringing in Work-choices.

Sorry, not buying the bait.

That man would say anything to get votes. He'd sooner send the country back 50 years than do this.

Tony Abbott is a slimy git. As much as I'd love an R18+ rating for video games, I don't want this poor excuse for a human being anywhere near the top office. He has absolutely no interest in the digital age.

If you want a party who wants an uncensored internet and an R18+ rating for everything, vote Australian Sex Party.
