Judging people based off of a 100x100 picture they use on a forum is petty.

Hence why I don't.

It is interesting to see another League of Legends avatar though. Shows how popular the little game is getting.

Im one of the people who greatly dislikes the MLP avatars...since the majority of the fandom irks me. (Brony? Really? Adding bro to it doesnt make it manly, and Id hope even actual MLP fans can see how dumb that term is)
I'd be extraordinarily surprised if anybrony actually thought that the term was manly. It's merely a convenient and clever label.

Yes, because that's TOTALLY what this thread is about. >.>

Anyway, I know I tend to give a person more attention if they have a cool avatar or one that really stands out to me. I'm more likely to read their posts, but that's about where the bias ends.

I suppose I do a little bit.

For instance, I saw this guy the other day with some toast for his avatar, totally made the assumption that he enjoys a good bit of toast in the mornings...shame on me.

The only avatars that I don't really like are:
A) Gifs that are really flashy and distracting
B) Pictures that are too small or crowded to see

I may become bias to specific avatars, but that would have to do with the person, though since I ID people by avatar, I could potentially think someone is someone else if they have a similar or teh same avatar.
I have a pony avatar because it is my current favorite thing. However, I HATE THE FANDOM. It descended quickly from "Oh isn't that neat?" to near Sonic fandom levels. I use the term Brony just to fuck with people.

I think I'm slightly biased against people who use female Anime characters in their avatars.

Please take no offense, especially since three of my best friends are actually hardcore Weeaboos, but I really find Anime to be extremely, extremely annoying. The women in it, especially.

The thread is just asking if you have any unusual bias towards certain avatars, that's it.

Some posts are making claims, but not the thread itself.

As for me, I can't stand XBOX LIVE Avatars. 83

Generally if a person has a female avatar (which is usually an anime) I think they're a girl, and the other way around.

Internet hipsters with their hilarious meme avatars. It doesn't really bother me, but every time I see one I die a little bit inside.

Bias? Well I guess I find myself getting along better with people who have avatars of anime that I know, or games that I enjoy.
Dunno if I find myself disliking people because of their avatars.

I just wish I could hear the story behind everyone's avatars :D

Do you find that you have a bias towards or against a particular type of avatar?
My Little Pony avatars. Every time I see one I think "Oh great, I sure hope this pony fan isn't here to derail this thread."

I don't care about the actual show or think less of them for watching it. It's just that so many of the fans think it's the only thing anyone should talk about, and throw down a pony discussion wherever they can regardless of if it's relevant.
Colour me curious

Examples of this?
You aren't getting any. I've asked him in another thread and never got an answer.
Okay, this has gone unanswered long enough. I have only ever seen this happen twice, ages ago. So it's nowhere near as rampant as mjc0961 would have you believe, but here are the examples:

http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.286607-I-Post-with-My-Real-Name?page=4

I couldn't find this thread anymore but here is another thread referencing its occurrence
http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.276116-The-Debate-a-Girl-Meta-Topic

I'm not defending him or his opinion of the show, I personally love it, but I've seen this happen and it bugs me that examples were never given. Although, I think both those threads were improved by the inclusion of ponies.

I don't usually look at avatars. I just like to read the post. Even when I do look at them, It's just an avatar. No point in judging people based on just that. The content of their post is what matters.

I don't think the first one counts. The OP wanted to derail the thread.

I dislike it when a person frequently changes their avatar. Other than that I am not aware of any particular biases that I may exhibit.
