I'd be extraordinarily surprised if anybrony actually thought that the term was manly. It's merely a convenient and clever label.Saelune said:Im one of the people who greatly dislikes the MLP avatars...since the majority of the fandom irks me. (Brony? Really? Adding bro to it doesnt make it manly, and Id hope even actual MLP fans can see how dumb that term is)
Yes, because that's TOTALLY what this thread is about. >.>Ross Perot said:I'm biased against threads about how we can claim to know a person's entire personality based on the 100x100 picture they choose to show on an internet forum.
I have a pony avatar because it is my current favorite thing. However, I HATE THE FANDOM. It descended quickly from "Oh isn't that neat?" to near Sonic fandom levels. I use the term Brony just to fuck with people.Saelune said:Im one of the people who greatly dislikes the MLP avatars...since the majority of the fandom irks me. (Brony? Really? I may become bias to specific avatars, but that would have to do with the person, though since I ID people by avatar, I could potentially think someone is someone else if they have a similar or teh same avatar.
The thread is just asking if you have any unusual bias towards certain avatars, that's it.Ross Perot said:I'm biased against threads about how we can claim to know a person's entire personality based on the 100x100 picture they choose to show on an internet forum.

Okay, this has gone unanswered long enough. I have only ever seen this happen twice, ages ago. So it's nowhere near as rampant as mjc0961 would have you believe, but here are the examples:RedEyesBlackGamer said:You aren't getting any. I don't care about the actual show or think less of them for watching it. It's just that so many of the fans think it's the only thing anyone should talk about, and throw down a pony discussion wherever they can regardless of if it's relevant.

I don't think the first one counts. The OP wanted to derail the thread.Drathnoxis said:Okay, this has gone unanswered long enough. I have only ever seen this happen twice, ages ago. I couldn't find this thread anymore but here is another thread referencing its occurrence

I'm not defending him or his opinion of the show, I personally love it, but I've seen this happen and it bugs me that examples were never given. Although, I think both those threads were improved by the inclusion of ponies.
