You know batman is gonna win anyway.

And yet, he was a more credible threat because he wasn't ***** slapped every five minutes he was on screen. There's a difference between suspension of disbelief and asking someone to buy into something for no reason.

We also knew that the Avengers would eventually get together (or "assemble," if you will), but watching Thor and Iron Man fight was freaking cool, even if we know they won't kill one another.

Hell, they could have done more to make Loki look like a competent trickster, at least. In the comics, often enough even when the good guys (usually Thor) win, Loki still wins.

Usually, movie Loki is more "haha, my cunning plan was to not completely die."

Woooow. What a genius.

To be fair I felt the entire final batman movie was about nothing BUT him being *****-slapped. Not sure if you mean batman though, your post was a bit unclear to me.

That said, Loki got in some moves in the Avengers. And more importantly, I guess he DID win in Thor 2. (At least for now )

But I agree, as an accomplished trickster it would be cool if he was a bit smarter than he has been.

Ooooon the flip side, movieverse is not comicverse, and Loki might not be exactly the same character he is as in the comics. To me it seems his story has been more like this: (Obviously, spoilers)

Thor 1: Loki is a great trickster, mostly using his abilities for fun, and somewhat furthering his own ambition. After the shock of his heritage he becomes mentally unhinged. When people are mentally unhinged, they are usually not so level-headed

Avengers: Post-Thor, Loki just wanted revenge, and a simple kingdom to rule, and chose earth. His plan wasnt all that great, but maybe he didnt really know what he was up against, and he probably overplayed his hand.

Thor 2: Evolved even more, Loki has cooled down a bit, but when his step-mom (which he genuinely seems to care about, which I LOVED btw, it gave him so much more depth as a character) dies, he uses the opportunity to BOTH get revenge on the bastard that did it, AND 1upping Thor to take Odins place. This HAS to count for a pure win for Loki
