"It's nothing." Umbra's response was quick to David's question. She smiled as she looked at Hitaki, but her expression still held some worry. Clearly she wasn't being quite honest but about what exactly she would never admit.
When John asked his question the goblin who had been tending the doors turned around. "whelp. if you ain't here to get a soul, an you ain't here to steal a tresure. an those nev'e go well." He chuckled to himself as if at an old memory. "thn why not go te' the great throne rum." He considered for a moment. "i mean, i ain't never been. but you might."

The voice sounded again. "Goblin? Goblin? Hey! I'm no goblin. And I can see you just fine. You think getting rid of your body is enough to throw me off?"
The voice seemed close, in fact it seemed to be coming from right near the lantern.

The voice sounded again. "Goblin? Goblin? Hey! I'm no goblin. And I can see you just fine. You think getting rid of your body is enough to throw me off?"
The voice seemed close, in fact it seemed to be coming from right near the lantern.
David frowned but didn't pry. "If you say so Ms. Umbra."
He knew very well that something was wrong, but he didn't want to try delving into her mind to find out what was wrong, both out of politeness and out of fear of her detecting his mind probe and getting his head ripped off. Mostly the former.
David stretched and pushed away from the wall. " Well, if you need help with anything Ms. Umbra, I'll be around." He made his way to Hataki and the others.

Tasha noticed the glint from the corner of his eye and turned suddenly, his hand sliding in half, revealing a large barrel and several bright red cords jutting out of the side. His voice could barely be heard by anyone [sub]"Who ever you are, freeze."[/sub]
David quickly unsheathed his knife and telekinetically aimed his throwing knives at the intruder. "Move, and I'll turn you into the world's largest pin-cushion." David inwardly cringed at how cheesy that sounded but kept his focus on the target.
Harper spun round to face the direction the others were looking at, already raising his weapon and going down on one knee as he turned. He brought his head down to look through his sights at the target. He called out to the unseen figure as he moved his hand.
"You there, I suggest you show yourself slowly as I doubt you want to startle anyone."
*Shunk* The bolt slammed foreward, the first round ready and in the chamber.
"...And bloody hell, was that really, really the best you could do David?"

John casually drew his blade, resting it over his shoulder, as he turned to face the mysterious apparition. HK rolled in front of him, aiming its gattling gun at the strange figure.
"Yeah, I don't do puns. Still, I'd advise not moving. As you can see, our group's a little jumpy today."

Whaddayamean? Actually, I have no idea why this is going on... I just came on and thought it would be good if I readied my weapon too.
As Galio examined the lantern he would probably notice an odd thing about it. It was roughly square and with glass sides, but one side seemed to be cracked quite heavily. However, the cracks didn't seem random, they almost seemed to be in the shape of a pair of eyes.
Then the eyes blinked at him.
The lantern shuttered a bit rattling on it's stand. Now the eyes were definitely focusing on Galio, and the voice was coming from the same place. It was high, but only moderately loud.
"Hey! Don't get so close." It said. "I am a powerful Tsukumogami you know. Tremble in fear mortal!"
With that bright flames shot up in a ring surrounding Galio and the lantern. Outside the ring of fire a couple of large curved swords seemed to dance menacingly around the ring. Such a display might have frightened a normal person, but Galio could easily tell that the fire and swords were illusions.
"Bow down before me mortal, and I might let you live to serve me."

The students readied their weapons at what seemed to be empty blackness. Nothing seemed to be there.
However, after a tense moment a new voice floated through the air. "Well well well. It looks like you got me fair and square." The voice seemed male, smooth and suave. "All right then. Here I come."
With that, nothing seemed to change. However, after a few seconds a faint outline became visible; not as if anything appeared, but as if something black was just placed up against the identical black of the shadowy wall. The shape seemed a touch more defined a second later and seemed to be some kind of large, but lean cat. About where the head was, tall as the students, a pair of bright yellow eyes seemed to open and stare down each of the students.
Other then that though, there was no movement.

"But of course." The smooth voice responded. "How very rude of me." With that color seemed to almost leak out of no where and slowly fade onto the outline. Spots of yellow and black appeared over the shape of the large cat eventually brightening to reveal a leopard sitting almost as tall as the students.
The predator took a moment to stretch before turning it's yellow feline eyes back on the students. Despite it's muzzle it still spoke perfect English. "I am Ose, and it is a pleasure to meet you."

Even from this slight distraction the illusions were beginning to waiver a little bit due to lack of focus. However, the Tsukumogami didn't even seem to notice.
"All right! First, I want you to carry me through the gates to the human world. Wait. No. No body, that's right. Hang on, I'm going to have to think for a bit." With that the lantern seemed to quiet down, absorbed in thought.

"My view of the world has become warped and twisted Dave. Can't tell things from others. emotions blurring, randomly spiking at times. not fun."
A strange impulse flowed over her. Hataki unsheathed her sword and dug the tip of her blade into her palm, causing it top bleed, fairly quickly too. within 10 seconds, blood was dripping off her hand. she looked curiously at it for a minute, wondering what she had done.
Hataki licked the blood on her hand "Strangely sweet." and she sucked on the wound drawing more blood into her mouth and more pleasure surged into her. she had lost her self in bliss and landed gentility on the ground.
