Oh come on, these aren't babies names! THESE are babies names; https://www.facebook.com/GreatBabysNames

If you really want your child to become a legend, they'll need a name to match, like Eyelash Giveaway, or Angsty ANgus!

(But serious names I'd go for would be Jack, Ophelia, Alice, I love those names.)

I also want to freak out my boyfriend. ;)
Well, he's not getting any younger. xD

Anyway, the boy will be Caesar, and the girl Boadicea.

IT'S TIME FOR THE GRUDGE MATCH!

(In all seriousness, I'd be sensible and boring. Michael for a boy, because it's my middle name and has so many derivatives to choose from if the don't like the long version; and either Ellen or Eleanor for a girl).

Oh boy the joy when I stumbled upon the Salmons and their five kids named Poem, Rose (not a common name in the least here), Cilla, and the last one literally translates to 'Sell a Salmon'. That's some loose screws in the parents' heads for sure.

I'm quite fond of 'Fiona' for a girl. 'Vinnie' is a cool boy's name, but I won't give my kid a completely foreign name so it's an unlikely choice.

Schierke.

...

No, don't do that.

I always liked Ellie as a name, but I also found Keira and kara to sound unique. My favorite name for a girl is probably Riley. So much so that I named a character I wrote Riley. I think it means little black stream, or some such thing. Marisol has a unique ring to it as well, and I think it means sunny sea. It's a beautiful name with a unique sound to it.

Schierke.
You wish your theoretical daughter was that charming.

Schierke > Hermione
She's basically the perfect child. Like, the dream kid every parent hopes for.

On the plus side, little schierke will be able to sympathize with her namesake from all the persecution/bullying she'd have to endure at school. Or maybe that's a downside. This is why I don't have children. Yet.

You could always take the route of that marine whose parents named him Max Fightmaster. And he joined the military, which makes his full title Staff Sergeant Max Fightmaster.

If it's a boy... Riku...
If it's a girl... Rikku...
If it's both... Eh, I'll let my wife, Rikku, chose... (That would be her nickname... Cute, right?)

If I was joking... Then, I would be a battle between Lloyd or Reina... (Actually, I can't imagine myself joking about this... My wife would see it as such, but would soon realize that those names I mentioned were spoken with a straight face of pure honesty...)

Also, despite having MANY nicknames over the years... my actual name (first and last) will never change... and now, I have mixed feelings for still thinking that... *sighs*
But on a more serious note, I still would be wanting to name a child either Lloyd or Reina with Rik[k]u ending up being a nickname for someone in this situation... Still won't change my first or last name, but I digress...

Other than that, they could always take up my name the same way I took my father's name... Then again, this is with the assumption they change their name "later" in life for reasons or something...

My cousin Sarah is named after Sarah Jane from Dr. who. I'd like to name my kids after characters from fandoms, like Rachel from animorphs, or Jake from animorphs.

Child 1 or Kid A, anything else would just be ridiculous.

For a boy - James, Liam, Travis, Vincent... And maybe a few more out-there ones like Enoch or Daryl. It just occurred to me that I like a LOT of the names from the Silent Hill games just because they're so... timeless, I guess? I mean, with the exception of Murphy but I like Alex, Henry, Harry and Walter, too. Hard to believe (sarcasm) but I actually love the name "Rhys", too... and Axton.

I'd have a lot more trouble with a girl but I've always had "Hanna" in mind but I also like Shiloh, Cheryl and Margot. I WOULD go with Elizabeth buuut there's already two of those in the family

If I wanted to kill my kid, I'd name him Sherlock. I think that name is adorable.

Ah, I've got a somewhat hard set of rules to follow for naming my children.

You see, I have an interacial family coming up, and we don't want our children to have two names. So we need to pick a name that works in both English and Chinese. For example, 睿昂 (Rui'Ang) sounds like Ryan, and so works in both languages well.

Not only that, but there are some traditions for names in Chinese, like if someone doesn't have enough "water" in them, you'll put a part of their name which is water related. So, my fiancee's name translates to "A river, like ice", for example.

That said, I draw the line at any name that can either:

1) Be an obvious video game only reference.
2) Has an unusual spelling; I don't want them to spend their life correcting people
3) Can be easily turned into a fat, smelly, penis or vagina joke. Just to save them to eventual bullying as much as possible.

I know that no baby name can ever rival that kid named Tali'Zorah
I wouldn't be too sure about that, there are some strong contenders in Germany. Imperial-Purity, for instance. Or Shooter Manhattan.
I mean, seriously?

Anyway, I have no idea what I would name my children. I'd probably pick a name with a germanic or norse root though.

I've always wanted to be a dad, and when it comes to naming my future children, I intend to name them in line with their heritage or with names I just plain like, though I won't use names of people I met before I started seriously thinking about this (except in some tribute cases).

In descending order of preference,
Girls:
Kolinka (Link can be her nickname, if it fits)
Isolde
Morgan

Boys:
Viktor
Tobias
Maurice

That kid? Second rate? But, but, she's been the most adorable and perfect girl I could ask for...except for the insane toddler stuff that all non-Tali'Zorah's put their parents through.

(No worries, just messing with you).

Kiera/Ciara and Kara are pretty common names here so just don't move to Ireland and you'll be alright. XD
I remember some conversation like this when Watch Dogs came out because somebody said Aiden was a dumb name. This was despite the character being from Belfast and Aiden not being an uncommon name in Ireland.

Anyway if it was up to me as to what to name the child I'd want to go for something gender-neutral. Riley, Ashley, Chris, Sam, Alex.

Oh that reminds me of that study I read on giving males names commonly given to girls increases their likelihood to become a criminal..

Honestly though, I hope people consider setting aside funds for their child to be able to change their name looking through some of the name choices in this thread. YIKES. I surely would not want to have to survive grade school with some of these names.. Those poor kids. LOL

I want to name my son Dante Hamlet.
He will not get beaten up, contrary to what my Mother said.
IT IS A GOOD NAME DAMN IT.
Dante is just a fantastic name, due to one of my favourite stories being The Divine Comedy. On a sidenote, it's not actually due to DMC, which I also enjoy.
And Hamlet is my favourite play, so!
