Agree with the mic suggestion. co-ordination is vital.

To get most of the higher recon weapons more easily use your shotgun if you arent used to sniping (you could argue that if your not good with a sniper then dont use, but if you want all the weapons its a good technique)

12gauge slugs are the way ahead for shotguns, on normal you litterally need to be sitting on their knee when you shoot them.

Mix it up, Try mixing the different perks as you might find light pack better than magnum ammo or body armour for example.

Explore EVERYWHERE on a map, you will get to know little shortcuts and ways in behind enemy lines so you can wreak havoc without getting shot to bits.

Sniper rifles are much more accurate without scoping in, so don't be afraid to no-scope in tight situations.
QFT, No-scoping is highly effective.
Also, just noticed a little fun-fact; the M4 Carbine is clearly visible in the hands of the soldier on the front cover, yet the M4 is not in the game?
The M416 is, but they're different guns entirely.
Not really, the 416 is just a piston AR-15.

Don't underestimate a weapon because of it's low power, seriously, the only weapon that I can think of that's complete and utter shit and that you shouldn't use, is the M93 Raffica.

Which is a shame, because that gun had the potential to be a ridiculously badass weapon.
I'm gonna be honest, I thought that gun was ridiculously over powered.
I've never gotten killed by it unless the person was two feet away in hardcore mode; and I've only gotten 20 some kills with it in the 3 hours of time that I had it equipped.

I don't know who killed you with it so many times for you to think it was overpowered, but they must have been an M93 GOD.

The main rule about this game is teamwork. It is life. Rushing out alone is almost never an advisable strategy. You should also remember that this game has a lot more emphasis on long range combat, do not assume any area is safe, chances are it isn't.

Never underestimate how effective your sidearm is. It can be really effective against single enemies.

100% right, sometimes i can pump half a magazine into an enemy and they wont go down but then 3 M1911 .45 rounds take them right out.

I have absolutely nothing of value to say. Time was I could have given you good advice as someone who habitually came 1st or 2nd in most rounds of BF or MW.

Lately I've been appalling at every online FPS I own. I. Just. Cant. Stop. Dying. Could be my 26th Birthday has marked the point at which I start sucking badly.

So actually I do have some useful advice; the minute you feel you're getting old you may want to either stop playing or kill yourself at the start of every round so that other people don't have to go out of their way to do it for you.

A few things you can hear clearly:

1. Footsteps downstairs in a two story building
2. If you kill someone next to his teammate, the teammate will start babbling nonsense and gives away the position. (Doesn't that suck for the teammate? Forced to mourn about their dieing friend.)
3. Orgasm noise when someone misses a knife behind you.
4. Sniper shots that are near you.
5. Water splashing is pretty obvious.
6. Hear the difference between your motion sensors and theirs.
7. Have the ability to know that a motion sensor is around you, and get out of the area before you're dead.
8. Other crap they scream out when an enemy is around you.
Oh my god nobody told me the game had these,I need to buy it.

When up against a sniper heavy team, don't be afraid to go sniper(for the suit), find a nice shrub on a hilltop and slowly pan your cursor over the playing field while mashing the spot button. This results in you getting a ton of xp completely risk free if you don't open fire(if you do, you will be spotted on the killcam) and even in small matches, 3 people shooting through foliage and actively seeking out enemies typically beats 4 people running around with no purpose whatsoever.

Two things that I can not stress enough. Help your teammates. And play the match type the way your supposed to

Examples are:
Spot enemies (if your not playing hardcore)
If you're a Recon: use your motion mines
Engineer: Repair vehicles and destroy the enemies. (Engineers are the best equipped for vehicle destruction)
Medic: Defib dead teammates, drop health packs for everyone on your team.
Assault: Drop ammo packs.

You'll get a lot of points and level up faster if you do those things

If you play Rush and are an attacker, don't sit back in your spawn sniping people.
Arm the M-Comm stations and make sure they blow up. When you defend make sure they don't destroy the M-Comm stations. Don't run around in the enemies spawn. That's not helping out. When the stations get armed, defuse them. Don't sit there and watch them blow up.

If your playing Conquest.
Not really much to do other than give your squad mates a good place to respawn, capture flags, defend the ones you have and kill the enemy.

And one more thing...don't be a Recon that sits at the back of the map.

Squads are super useful. Even if they don't have mics. You can spawn on them, for one thing, and they can spawn on you to provide backup. Also, you can earn extra points for helping them, and on any objective you are ordered/placed an order on to attack/defend (do this yourself by looking at an objective and pressing back, if you didn't know).

With an assault or sniper kit, choose a weapon not part of the regular kit like a shotgun and take C4 if you're using the recon kit. If you have them, use the perk that lets you carry more explosives and gives you more explosive damage. Get to one of the objectives and put all your C4 on the objective. Arm it, get away from it and blow the C4. This will easily yield 350-500 experience points and really helps out your team.

Just a couple points on using shotguns...

Nothing can hold a building like a Recon player with a shotgun. Use the motion detector to know where the enemy is, and the rest is simple as it's pretty much impossible to lose in close quarters when you have a shotgun and you can predict when the enemy will appear. Either mash the fire button with a semi automatic shotgun or take a single well aimed shot with a pump action (particularly if you're using solid slugs) and your enemy will drop like a sack of potatoes.

12 gauge slugs are brilliant (Note: how can you have a 12 gauge slug? I thought '12 gauge' referred to the lead pellets found in buck shot), particularly when used with the pump action shotguns. You'll be able to get one hit kills from an impressive distance and two hits will down a target from almost any range that you can actually see them from.

Don't underestimate the 40mm underslung shotgun. The underslung grenade launcher isn't that great but the close range killing power of the shotgun is brilliant when someone thinks they can rush. However it's almost entirely useless against multiple opponents since you have to reload after every shot.

I find the additional shotgun clip capacity perk is useful with semi automatic shotguns, as well as taking the additional ammo carrying capacity perk in order to compensate for your new found trigger happiness.

General tips:

Make sure you at least try the AN-94 assault rifle when you unlock it; from what I've read here it's a love hate thing, but I found I could tear everyone apart with it using magnum ammo and a 4x scope.

Also try out the Carl Gustav; it's much more useful against enemies on foot than the RPG, and makes it worthwhile to take the extra explosive ammo perk. However the RPG is better against vehicles (especially helicopters), mainly because it doesn't give them a second or too between contact and explosive death which they can escape during. Also it's good for long range support (aka: spamming :p).

PS: I haven't actually played the game in about a month, so my advice may have been rendered completely obsolete by a big nerf or other such update.

Okay so I recintly made the transistion from MW2 to Bad comapny. So far I'm doing alright, level six in three days, hooray.
But I seem to end up getting shot in the back quite a lot, so I was wondering, any tips or tactics the escapist finds useful?
When practicing with the chopper make sure you dont use an attack one because then your team loses a valuable resource always use the transport and just try to stay up for as long as possible so that way if they all realize that you suck they can just jump out and go on with life
Acctually now that you mention helicopetrs, how do you parachute?
Lol nobody knows this its alright when in the air just mash A and itll pop out i never trust it pressing it once hahaa
