Black and white 2.

You know Lionhead last I checked I went ahead and bought a GOD GAME not a generic rts mixed in with a lackluster civ management game. In fact if I recall its quite easy to forget you are playing a god game, because your godly powers are limited to "Throw nasty enery ball" or "Throw friendly helpful energy ball".

The sequel to Brave Fencer Musahi. It was really, really disappointing.
So very true.

Jade Cocoon 2. There is no 3 because it was so VERY awful!
Master of Monsters: Blah Blah of Gaia. A remix full of FAIL.

I know there are plenty more but if we had them we try to get rid of them ASAP and then burn it out of our memories! You are quoting sequels that are pretty recent where some people bought a clue and gave the public more of what they enjoyed the first time instead of reinventing the wheel and in turn themselves out of jobs. Lol.

I actually played through it again recently. It wasn't actually a bad entry, it was wasn't the same kind of FPS as the original.

A bad sequel? Mass Effect 2 was CRAP. The plot was good, but they turned a perfectly good RPG into a pretty 3rd-person shooter.
But you've acknowledged that the plot was good, so really the only complaint is that it's a better shooter as well as being a superlative RPG?

I agree. It wasn't a bad game, per say, but it didn't have much about it that was all that unique.

Modern Warfare 2. Even people who weren't that interested in MW1 were disappointed by this.
Speak for yourself, I love Modern Warfare 2. Well, not the multiplayer so much, but I really did enjoy the campaign and I love Spec Ops.

But yeah, the multiplayer is bad.

Really bad.

Just horrible.

Seriously...Dual shotguns? Who the fuck thought that was gonna fly?

So bad....

I've always been the mindset that a compelling story with endearing characters and, in Bioware's case, the ability to shape the storyline through my actions is how an RPG should be defined.

I couldn't care less about stats; I just want really BE my character.

Devil May Cry 2 made me depressed. Everything about it was so dull.

I also agree with Kane and Lynch 2 being too short. It seemed like it ended just as it got going. I know it had an updated multiplayer mode, but I could really care less about that.

I'm the first to mention Deus Ex: Invisible War?

Do I win?
Loads of vomit and bile.

STALKER: Clear Sky, what a piece of shit.
Lucky you! Might have trouble scrubbing the memory out of your brain again!
To be fair, Invisible War would have been a fine and forgettable RPG/shooter if, you know, it hadn't also been Deus Ex 2. :(

For the time the graphics were jaw droppingly good. And really, its still a fairly attractive game, there's some good art direction. In a way that's all the original had going for it as well. Well, that and Alex Brandon's utterly fantastic score.

Beyond that there was some neat stuff. The planet hopping first came up on Dark Forces (I think), so that wasn't new, but it was an excuse to jump from planet to planet. The defensive missions were something new and different, and the way they work remains pretty rare today.

The first person briefings were new and interesting, and for that matter being able to wander around your ship in first person was (I believe) a first.

On the downside, the shooting was blandish for the era, the number of enemies on screen at a time was sharply limited, so no hordes. There's a lot of missions where the draw distance is about 25 feet, and the game is only about ten hours long.

I agree totally, which is why I preferred ME2. It wasn't the removal of stats (more or less), I couldn't care less about that, but the streamlined inventory meant there were less boring numbers. Also, I think that arbitrary skill levels and steadily improving gear feels a bit artificial, so one could argue that removing them increases immersion.

Team Fortress 2 I suppose.

Just compare it with the first one, it outdoes it in every way.

(although a scout with a grenade launcher would've been interesting)

Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising
Thank you
I know no sequel to Operation: Flashpoint. What is this foolishness you speak of?

Though, honestly, about the time the dev team lost the rights to OpF was about the time that OpF2 lost any chance at credibility. At least we've got ARMA.

Yeah, thank God!
Btw, did you hear Codemasters are doing a sequel to Dragon Rising? It's called Red River and let me tell you, it sounds even worse! No modding tools, no mission editor(even for PC) no online PvP(there's Co-Op) no medic class,no helicopter flying,...... Seriously?!

I'd actually be surprised as hell at that one. I was under the impression that they already cut off online support for Dragon Rising, and judging by the number of copies I still see scattered around I'm surprised it sold well enough to justify a sequel at all.

Fallout 3
You can go *** * ************* ****. I bleeps myself so it wouldn't get banned. Bethesda took a risk and made a good fps, just because it wasn't a "Proper sequel" doesn't mean anything. Fallout 1 and 2 were barely related and Fallout Tactics wasn't not related at all! So stop complaining and suck it up! (Brought to you by the Anti-Whining Commision)
