Bands which you feel are underrated.

Linkin Park deserves more acclaim. Also, most country bands deserve to be more well known because they suffer for their genre. Rascal Flatts comes to mind as a great example of this.

House of Heroes is probably one of the best indie-ish bands out there right now but they don't seem to have the exposure that they truly deserve.

Wow...just wow. No one can beat the lyrical power of the Aaron Wiess's rants. They've undergone a sound transformation over the years, warping from hard rock to folk. And it's fine with me.

Remember these guys. You'll know them soon enough. Bands this good don't stay hidden for long.

As for the other two, tbh my immediate impression of them was "angsty and generic" like a lot of those nu-metal or post-grunge bands. They look like the kind of bands that get signed at the peak of the popularity of their genre to milk the dollar of all the "alternative" kids. They're not really bad or anything, just not particularly special?

Yeah I can see where your coming from, but I remember 16Volt from the Primal videogame years ago and I thought they were fan-fucking-tastic, the sounds seemed so alien to me and the song At The End was so haunting when I first heard it. Same with Adema heard in a game liked the songs, bought their first albumn which was a good piece of metalwork, then over the years they did seem to become more generic. But hopefully with the origional lineup back together that will end.

Newer bands that are underrated : Insomnium, Hypocrisy, Månegarm, Eluveitie, Thyrfing, Elvenking, Tyr and Flesh Field.

They actually got fairly popular after "Ain't no Rest for the Wicked" got put in Borderlands, but you're right, they're still not too well known.
