Company of Heroes Gold (or was it GOTY? Either way, it included the Market Garden expansion.) was a good buy. So was MS Train Sim, which I make no excuses for other than a lifelong love of trains, and Baldur's Gate & TOTSC.

When Icewind Dale 2 came out a local retail store mistakenly (I hope) put it on the multimedia sale table, marked at about $7. (The usual price at that time was 45-50 bucks.)

I haven't made any spectacular deals since then, but I have an extreme example of the OPPOSITE to share. The manager of the local toy giant has got to be the cheapest, most stupid and misinformed incompetent ever in charge of a larger franchise store.
He has for ten years absolutely REFUSED to mark down his single unsold N64 and Dreamcast, meaning that if you're so inclinded you can get a mint-in-box (though dusty) N64 for about twice the price of a Wii, or a ditto Dreamcast for the price of an Xbox360 Elite...
(A friend of mine suggested that he lower the prices, and got shouted at and lectured about market realities and how he wouldn't stoop to haggling with scumbags like my friend. I've seen him in action myself and the man is an absolute douche, no two ways about that.)

What do you think the chances are of those ever getting sold at the asking price?

Full price in Australia is $80-$110, so I got Company of Heroes for $20, and on steam sale I got Rainbow Six Vegas Two for about $16.
