Wait, what is Battlefield 1943 doing in there? Thats not a full game, instead a downloadable title. That would be like if the Nazi Zombies game made by Treyarch on the iPhone was counted as one of their full games. Knock that off the list and notice that there has been a longer development cycle for Battlefield (a few years in fact) then you got yourself an arguement.
Okay, sure.

[blockquote]2002 Battlefield 1942
2005 Battlefield 2
2008 Battlefield: Bad Company
2010 Battlefield: Bad Company 2
2011 Battlefield 3[/blockquote]

[blockquote]2003 Call of Duty
2005 Call of Duty 2
2007 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
2009 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
2011 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3[/blockquote]

Knock that off the list and you have development cycles of 1-3 years versus IW's consistent 2. And lists of identical lengths, at that. In other words DICE is no different than IW, and could not be more full of shit if they stood in a sewer.

Multiyear as in 2? All they're games have been released in 2 year increments. Battlefield 2 was in development for 4, Battlefield 3 was in development for 6 years, 1942 was in development for a range of 3 to 6. In fact, im not completely sure Vietnam was created by DICE at all but instead a subsidiary.
Yes, multiyear as in two. As opposed to the "annual releases" the DICE employee is quoted for; not to mention the "annual release" of 2010's BFBC2 and 2011 BF3. Oh noes franchise fatigue is coming for you DICE!

To clarify, I'm not saying IW is better than DICE in this aspect. They're not. They are, as demonstrated, virtually identical. But it's not an IW lying about DICE here is it?

COD black ops has been pumping out a ton of content for its game.

The take away here is, games should recieve support at a REASONABLE COST.

If you bought the regular edition of blops thats 59.99 for the game and 4800 ms points or 70+ bucks plus tax for what 20 maps? 8 zombie 12 regular? Who knows blops lost me at "buy 5 maps for the cost of battlefield bc2 and vietnam on steam and a subway lunch." Oh wait that would cost less than 5 maps.

inb4 if you don't like it don't buy it, I call bullshit, as it splits the community.

People keep harping on about ALL those battlefield games, lets take a closer look:

2002 Battlefield 1942 < PC only
2003 Battlefield 1942: The Road to Rome < Expansion
2003 Battlefield 1942: Secret Weapons of WWII < Expansion
2004 Battlefield Vietnam < PC only
2005 Battlefield 2 < PC only
2005 Battlefield 2: Special Forces < Expansion
2005 Battlefield 2: Modern Combat < PS2/Xbox
2006 Battlefield 2: Euro Forces < DLC
2006 Battlefield 2: Armored Fury < DLC
2006 Battlefield 2142 < PC only
2007 Battlefield 2142: Northern Strike < DLC
2008 Battlefield: Bad Company < Consoles only
2009 Battlefield Heroes < F2P PC
2009 Battlefield 1943 < DL only PS3/360
2010 Battlefield: Bad Company 2 < PC/PS3/360
2010 Battlefield: Bad Company 2: Vietnam < DLC
2010 Battlefield Online < Korean release only?
2011 Battlefield Play4Free < F2p
2011 Battlefield 3 < PC/PS3/360

I've also seen alot more support from Dice over the years in keeping the games updated to keep balance and add new maps (for free) and new game modes (also for free). Hell anyone that played BF2 on release will know how horribly overpowered the Black Hawk use to be, and then they made it balanced to the MEC transport copter.

I'll be the first to admit that EA need to keep hands off of there various studios, I've seen too many go down the toilet from too much medling, but Activision is doing the same thing with COD, possibly worse. Drafting in 2 studios so they can pump out EVEN MORE COD games more quickly.

For those who like lists btw, here's ALL of COD's releases, 22 "games" in 8 years.

Call of Duty (2003)
Call of Duty: United Offensive (2004)
Call of Duty: Finest Hour (2004)
Call of Duty 2 (2005)
Call of Duty 2: Big Red One (2005)
Call of Duty 3 (2006)
Call of Duty: Roads to Victory (2007)
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (2007)
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (Nintendo DS) (2007)
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Reflex Edition (2009)
Call of Duty: World at War (2008)
Call of Duty: World at War: Final Fronts (2008)
Call of Duty: World at War (Nintendo DS) (2008)
Call of Duty: ZOMBIES (2009)
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009)
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2: Force Recon (2009)
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Mobilized (2009)
Call of Duty: Classic (2009)
Call of Duty: Black Ops (2010)
Call of Duty: Black Ops (Nintendo DS) (2010)
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (2011)
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3: Defiance (2011)

You do notice that DICE is a large development studio with multiple sections. Alternatively, everybody in Infinity Ward has been working on each title. If we do this by development then you find that only Battlefield 1942, 2, and 3 were made by the same team. The team that made Vietnam doesn't exist anymore, and the team for 2142 doesn't either (some of them probably ended up making Mirror's Edge). Soooo... there goes the argument.
I like how you're totally oblivious to the fact that Infinity Ward lost like 80% of its staff not so long ago. And the staff have been constantly shifting before that, too. The team making MW3 isn't the same one as the one that made CoD 1. So, there goes your argument.

Really, DICE? Are you so sure about that?
Alot of them fall under updates to the game eg battlefield Vietnam
and isnt play for free just updated version of battlefield 2
