Well, that was thoroughly underwhelming.
i) Lot's of scripted events in that, until they show off some unscripted destruction it doesn't count. CoD4 put us in a sinking ship, the sequence in the factory reminded me a lot of that.
ii) The Helicopter pilot was called Hawkins, does that mean they've brought back Colby Hawkins from 3 specifically to kill her off in the first level? Or is every female pilot in the US military related?
iii) If Dice's spiel about open ended means a return to Bad Company's massive open maps with an objective marker then that's interesting. If it's going to be a case of left corridor, right corridor then not so much.
iv) Where's Black?
v) Single bullet reloads, that annoys my inner old git.
vi) Post processing effects seem to have been turned down a touch, which is nice and consistent with the Aftermath/Endgame maps not being quite so lens flare-tastic.
vii) Why are EA so desperate to Call of Duty it up? They've failed three years on the bounce to make a CoD clone campaign (MoH, BF3, MoH:WF) and yet they seem to be persisting. Why is anyone going to buy it when they already bought Call of Duty?
viii) If Black's not there, where's Pres, Hags, Sweet and Sarge? I'd rather play that than this.
ix) What's up with the gore porn? Even with all it's stabbings BF3 is pretty bloodless, this a marked shift in content (if not tone). Does it mean there's going to be gibs? That would be a new one, not sure if it's ridiculous or disturbing yet, maybe both.
x) Pretty foreign sidekick, she's going to catch a bullet in a 'shocking' moment, I'm calling it now!
