Oh, on a side note, is there any way to rotate pieces? I haven't found one yet...
"J" and and "L" rotate whatever object you have selected. In the Shipmaker you can press "F1" to open the Help file.
=
You also get a shrine! (sorry, missed this post when quoting the other one)

They have to be on top of each other. Copy the first line of code, select a weapon, press 'e' and paste. Do the same for the others.
Ctrl-Click selects the sections/weapons/modules under your cursor.

It was bound to happen. I made a Super Star Destroyer.

3 Turbolaser arrays (GatBeams)
2 Laser Cannon Arrays (GatPulse)
4 Concussion Missle Launchers (missle launchers)
4 Deflector Arrays
3 Tractor Beam Arrays (Impeder)
1 Superlaser Cannon (MegaBeam)
2 Point Lasers (point beams) *not pictured, I added those later when it became apparent the Mon Calamari was kicking the Star Destroyers ass*

All the weapons are mounted to point to the fore of the ship with 45 degree firing arcs, making it's area of fire very linear, but it possesses a wide array of medium to long weapons (and even some short range with the GatPulse's)

3 speed
.75 turning
500 range
.05 accel

Of course, what could go against such a beast? Why a Mon Calamari Cruiser of course!

6 Turbolasers (gatbeams)
4 laser cannons (gatpulse)
2 Laser Cannons (Beamer)
6 Deflector Arrays
3 Point Lasers (point beams)
2 Tractor Beam arrays (impeder)

Unlike the Star Destroyer, the Mon Calamari Cruiser is a broadside vessel- all of it's guns with the exception of the fore and aft beamers are pointed out to the sides and have 90 Degree firing arcs. It's tremendous defensive ability with the point beams, impeder's, and 6 deflectors makes it viable for busting enemy formations by flying straight in and soaking fire.

3 speed
.75 turning
500 range
.05 accel

I tested the two out in the sandbox and they more or less slugged it out without any clear winner, though the Star Destroyer started to take a beating. The Calamari Cruiser turned out to be capable of slugging it out with 3 Star Destroyers at once. At four or five, the amount of firepower put out was simply too overwhelming.

Erm. Your parenting is kinda awful... See those white lines? Those are parenting lines. It seems that all of the weapons and modules are parented to the core, and when the sections it is under are destroyed. Which will leave floating weapons.

And read this:

Anyone know how to change projectile color? I'm trying to make an enterprise and want to set the beamer to blue somehow to imitate phasers

Parenting? Well it's not like there was a damn manual I could find. Okay, I took a look at those guides. How do I fix the parenting lines?

There's an edit button on the left side of the screen, right beside the sections thing. Select a weapon and click edit. Then near the center of the toolbar, there should be a projectile color thing.

Sweet, thanks. I also looked at your guides and fixed my parenting problem.

I also found this guide that was a big time saver for me.

Just knowing WTF everything is and what it does saves me ALOT of time.

This probably sounds really dumb but even after looking at all those guides I still don't know how to get guns to have different firing arcs and point in different directions.

The Executor-class Star Dreadnought, colloquially known as the Executor-class Super Star Destroyer or Executor-class Star Destroyer, was a heavy warship class in the Star Dreadnaught league, often used as command ships and flagships in the Imperial Navy. At their prime, they were among the largest vessels in the galaxy, second only to heavier Star Dreadnaughts like the Eclipse-class and superweapons like the Death Stars, and were almost invincible in combat, although they were costly to operate.

Loadout: *please note it's not canonically accurate for this class, I was trying to make a "general" super star destroyer*

3x Turbolaser bays (GatBeam)
2x Laser bays (gatpulse)
2x Assault Concussion Missle Bays (plamsa)
2x Tractor Beam Arrays (gravbeam)
1x Gravity Well Generator (intercepter
5x Turbo Deflector-screen hull generators
1x Superlaser Cannon (megabeam)

Minimum Crew: 50,000

Press F1, that brings up the keylist.

PS: Anyone know how to set Aegis Deflectors? I'm not sure how to select the part of the ship I want defended, and it won't let you save or use the ship till the hull segment is specified.

PPS: Annnd never mind I figured it out. Rightclicking for the win >_>;

This is my best creation so far, the SVD-class bomber. Armed with six railguns, numerous anti-fighter cannons and four Teller launchers, it's capable of destroying a Leviathan (For non-players: Very heavily armoured space station, moderately armed) with few sections lost.

What I would like to do with this ship is to pit it against the creations of others, such as TsunamiWombat's Star destroyer or whyarecarrot's Compellor. It will be an AI vs AI fight, head-on in the centre of the sandbox. You can choose to fight one-on-one, or you can estimate how many SVDs your ship can take.

I will post screenshots of the fights, and give a final damage report containing information like how many guns/segments were destroyed and core damage done. PM me and email the ship data if you want to have a go.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that my email is in my profile.

I'm up for that: don't expect the Compellor to be that balanced though: I was more or less placing weapons with little idea of what they did ;)
I'll say try 1 on 1, as the Compellor seems to be tough, although I'm not sure it's damage output is that great. edit: Maybe I may need 2 Compellors actually. Your ship looks to be a lot tougher.
PM incoming

Well, the results are in from the first round.

NOTE: This is probably the strongest moment for the SVD, as it took almost no damage from this (The gold sections of the ship have temporary shields)

The SVD took little damage to the important components like the turrets or missile launchers, but did sustain heavy armour damage towards the end. The compellors, however, suffered from a peculiar tendancy to have the front segment of the ship snap off and detonate after a few direct railgun shots.

Hmm, I think that the front segment issue is as a result of poor parenting on my part.

I've put together another ship though, which may be better: fast, more heavily armed, light on health but well shielded, so if you want a rematch Aussie, I'm sending it now:

The Fra'al Cruiser (An idea taken from a Battlefleet Gothic ship rulebook)
