The more I think back on Bayonetta 3 the more I don't really like it. Purists say the fighting mechanics are a step above from Bayonetta 2 and I'd give them that. But in the end I don't care about that. Its a spectacle fighter. I'm here for the spectacle and not the depth, and in this I think the game falls a bit flat.
The enemies and the locations you visit are all a big downgrade from the marble angels and gorgeous Renaissance cities. That and I've gotten tired of the multiverse long before this game delved into it.
Also the story is just stupid at times, and not the good kind of stupid like the rest of the series.
