I'm sure everybody has their own games to look forward to, but the only game I cared about at this E3 (apart from Brutal Legend) is Bayonetta. This game is going to be awesome. I realize on the surface it looks retarded, you play as a witch who looks like a cross between Sarah Palin and a supermodel and wears a suit made out of hair and has guns on her feet. Yes, okay, it IS retarded. But it's Japanese, they can get away with such stupid concepts because they take it so over the top that it becomes cool in its own way. The real reason to get excited about this game is its pedigree. It's being made by Platinumgames (aka the reborn Team Clover) and directed by the man who invented the modern action game, the dude who directed Devil May Cry.
Anybody else as excited as me for this game?

I stopped reading at "It's Japanese", also, it looks pretty boring to me.

Hype thread much? Please don't say it'll rock until you are able to play the full game. Hell, even demos hide the hideousness of a game.

As for Bayonetta, I'd rather go for God of War 3 unless it brings something new in the hack n' slash genre.

The only issue i have with this is one thing; sure she looks cool, and fights pretty awesomely as well, she is essentially a whore "You want to touch me? Come on" and the camera angles are just male service, being a logical person i can imagine the gameplay >.>

I will be getting it, but i do have doubts.

I compare Bayonetta to Devil May Cry, yeah same makers. But things I hate about Devil May Cry is that enemies, even bosses, feel like cannon-fodders to make your character look cooler. It doesn't feel satsifying, in my opinion. Cutscenes are also an issue, because they hog the cool factors rather than you executing them. Most of all, they revolve wayyy too much on the term "cool!" Over-the-top moves and stylish executions don't impress everyone (mostly impresses the younger gamers). Also chaining moves to make a wonderful stylish execution is hard. It has some satisfaction considering it was meant to be played that way, but its execution is a s hard as doing an air juggle in Tekken 5.

God of War is an example of what I would love in a hack n' slash game. Cutscenes which just points you out to your next mission, easy-to-chain combos which gives satisfaction of a wonderful execution, and he looks cool even though he's not trying to be. Pragmatic, effective, and violent, what else would you need in a hack n' slash game?

Sorry for the rant, but Devil May Cry series just lost my respects after its 4th installment. I just hope they can make a comeback with Bayonetta. I don't want anymore cheesy one-liners from Devil May Cry nor any sequels.

It might have been better if they just called it Devil May Cry 5 and be done with it.

To be honest, its another devil may cry game, it has the same gameplay and the same basic art style.

Devil May Cry didn't need a sequel.

God of War didn't need a sequel.

If you liked Devil may Cry, you will like Bayonetta because its the same fucking game.

Well, I find it rather interesting, and not because of the woman that you play as. It has a very ridiculous style that's almost self parody. Really? Guns on Heels?

Mleh... I never got into Devil May Cry, so I'm thinking it'll take more than boobs and a beauty mole to change my mind.

I mean come on guys we already have porn.

Not really. The game seems like a replica of DMC, except with a few story changes and a new character. I'd rather get Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.

Do remember that Bayonetta is a game where you can suplex dragons, and dual wield bazookas. Sure, they might get it wrong, but if they do then the world is not worth saving.

Considering 3 was the best of the series, I think I will have to disagree.

Eeeeeveryone disagrees with you there.
I agree with him. It did not need a sequel.

The sequel was more of the same, and good, but it was unnecessary.
But I can agree with this. While DMC 3 was the most solid and robust DMC game, GoW 2 was GoW 1 with a different story. Of course if you loved GoW 1 then that's not problem at all.

Why should I care about it?

Ninety Nine Nights 2 and Dante's Inferno both seems WAY more interesting.
I am with you on the Dante's Inferno, had to read the book for a class, book was great and I am wondering what is going to happen in the game.

I don't have anything against Bayonetta, but to me it seems like some asked "What if Dante was a girl, a witch and could accessorize?"

I'm not expecting Bayonetta to rock the foundation of the action genre; games like Devil May Cry 3 and God of War 2 already perfected the art of hack n' slash, and the upcoming games Dante's Inferno and God of War 3 are looking to provide some heavy competition.

What I AM expecting Bayonetta to be is stylish and entertaining. The game has some of the most psychotic combat I have ever seen in a game, some marvelous set pieces, and overall, looks to provide a fantastic experience. My only concern is the game's length; I just hope it can provide enough hours of entertainment so that it's worth every penny.

From what I've read and seen of this game it seems like it's taking the best parts of DMC3 and DMC4 and mixing in a little bit of its own style too. That's a good thing.
