be honest: does your girlfriend accept you as a gamer?

I'm still working on that whole girlfriend part, but my sister is a gamer. She only plays Bioware and Valve games so her taste is a little bit closed off.

She has played more games than I have in the last year on my Playstation and I just found out I have a Steam account I didn't even know she could turn the computer on.Well if she turns up pregnant anytime soon seeing as I haven't seen her since November I might start suspecting foul play.Just kidding I like her and she watches my stuff while I'm gone and it's hard to find a girl who not only plays a vicious left wing lock but also has the zone defense down to a science.

I'm one of the fortunate nerds that has a beautiful woman who also likes to game, although not as much as I do. She still accepts it, and often times relies on it when she needs assistance in a video game I've beaten.

... And it shows her her place when I whoop her at Modern Warfare 2. Haha. :D

She's fine with it, even though we don't play teh same games.
Haven't had any previous girlfriends show any signs of having problems with it either.

Currently single, but I doubt that I'd consider someone a significant other if they refused to accept such an integral part of me.
Same here my man.

My hope is that whenever I actually get a girlfriend, she'll be a gamer too. If not I'll make her one! BUWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Yeah, my girlfriend is cool with me being a gamer. She's sort of a gamer...but all she plays is Wii...so I'm not sure if that counts. I on the other hand play WoW, any PC game i can find and whatever i find for PS3.

My wife doesn't at all.
In fact in her words "At least unlike some of her friends I'm not off at the pub"

To be honest gaming is part of who I am, I dont think any relationship where one partner doesn't accept all of who the other partner is will really ever work long term...

I just broke up with a girl (protip: If you're dating someone who drinks, it's really only a matter of time before they drink too much and hook up with a stranger!.)

She was grudgingly accepting of my gaming habit, but would frequently text me with whiny "where are you?" grabs for attention.

My girlfriend isn't a gamer, but she'll join in on the fun. Rock band and party games like Fusion Frenzy are her best. We also played all of Heavy Rain together, much like a movie, with her in control. We also played the first few hours of the original Silent Hill together. That was soo much better than just watching a horror flick. She can't really function in an FPS, but at least she's let me try teaching her SC2 once. But yeah, I'm glad she'll play, but that games are still ultimately my thing.
She definitely accepts me for my gaming (we wouldn't have been together for so long if that weren't the case), but she's also good about helping to keep me from game binging, which I admit I need to both do and then break away from doing from time to time. All in all, as long as I'm not acting like a kid on summer vacation with nothing to do, games are a happy part of my, and thereby her life. :)

Well she loves games too so no she doesn't mind. We play together all the time. Except when I played WoW... she HATED when I played WoW.

I already posted but I gotta quote you man. You're in the same position I am. I game more than my girl but we still have fun together. And you're right, showing her who's really the boss once in awhile is great fun too!
