I saw a thread about Jennifer Government over at OT, and I thought it would be cool if a bunch of us Escapists got together and formed our own nations in the game inspired by the novel.

It's called Nation States, and you choose your own name, history etc and then shape your nation based on a set of daily questions. You get all the facts and figures such as GDP, crime etc and it would be great if a bunch of Escapists got together and formed our own alliance.

Anyway, if you're already on there, give us the name of your nation here and if you're not, you can sign up http://www.nationstates.net/page=welcome there and hopefully we can have a bit of fun with this.

You are aware that a much more in depth version of Nation States [http://www.nationstates2.com] already exists (with say... Industries that matter, fluctuating prices, embargoes... When I used to play, war was being developed, unsure if it has been implemented yet), yes?

It even allows multiple alliances to be joined, making regions serve a more realistic purpose.

The Republic of Gamekid171 is a fledgling, pleasant nation, renowned for its compulsory military service. Its hard-nosed, hard-working population of 5 million have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

The tiny government concentrates mainly on Law & Order, although Defence and Commerce are on the agenda. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 2%. A substantial private sector is led by the Book Publishing industry, followed by Soda Sales and Woodchip Exports.

Crime is a problem. Gamekid171's national animal is the chiken and its currency is the gold peice.
