Country Feedback by R.E.M.
Who Wants To Live Forever by Queen
Too Much Love Will Kill You by Queen

Ok, sure, I like Queen a lot. And interpret the lyrics of Country Feedback how you will, it's still one of the most beautiful songs I've heard.

Cricky i didnt realise my thread was still going this strong, keep the music coming people, i've got alot to catch up with.

Here's one of my favourate songs from an anime, sort of creepy, haunting and surprisingly beautiful. The vocals are perticularry good in my opinion. link [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ZXad8wJKLw]

Here's the ending song for the first season aswell which has a solid gold instrumental in the middle which is just BRILLIANT.

Any of these songs, I find haunting and beautiful. Which explains why I made these videos, just simply because I love the music so much. Anyway, before anyone says I'm simply self promoting, take a look at this one:

These songs are all that brilliant, and anyone can recognise this music (take a guess at the music before you look at the spoiler):

I'll bet you thought it was Requiem for a Dream, didn't you? Nope. It's Lux Aeterna. A piece originally by Mozart, Lux Aeterna was used as the central theme in the film Requiem for a Dream, and has been used so often since then there isn't a person alive who has had any exposure to modern entertainment who hasn't heard this song. However, people always call it Requiem for a Dream after the film, but they're wrong, although this particular version is actually a remix called Requiem for a Tower, created for the second Lord of the Rings film. Anyway, Lux Aeterna. Brilliant piece :)

Anything by Danny Elfman (Beetlejuice, Nightmare before Christmas, I think Coraline) is good in my book.
What about John Williams?

"Now do the People's Court!"
"Nooooo! John Williams! Great, now we have to do the rest of this thing with Danny Elfman..."

Yep, couple of Blue Harvest references for you there... But yeah, anything Danny Elfman or John Williams is great to me.

P.S. I just realised the videos I posted just were already posted by myself a few days ago and I completely forgot. Oh well, the music is still great. Listen to them, I say!

To Bid You Farewell [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5srcU2iYDXw] by Opeth.

Crack open a nice bottle of wine, single malt whisky, sherry, or other elitist alcoholic beverage of choice, and let it all just roll over you.

I'm doing that right now... *sigh*

Chopin's Raindrops.

The Blade Runner jazz synths.

Lots of people have already mentioned Sigur Ros, who came to my mind as soon as I saw this thread.

Some Townes Van Zandt, like Brand New Companion. There's this live version of Cocaine on the album Drama Fall Like Teardrops, and he does this understated intro then just plays this song, so hauntingly beautiful, and you can hear the people talking, and I always have this image of this brilliant musician sitting on stage and playing this wonderful music and people ignoring him. It's weird, but that's what I always imagine.

I'm going to plug this girl I kinda know who is starting up, Lucy Day [http://www.myspace.com/ /lucydayband] Guess I better leave it at that.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=alTfBk7HLDI&feature=related This is Brahms Symphony 2. just listen two it its wonderful and there is a theme that every person should know from there childhood in it. Its 9 minutes long but well well worth it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ecRu6R3qwV4 this is Rachmaninoff Concerto N. 2. If you can listen to this without having chills run down your spine i would be shock. This has been used many times in many movies and games and animes. Its really a shame this is all that Rachmaninoff is know for.

Beethoven has two song i will put on the list http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7U5if44LYKs This is his tempest sonata. Not well known but damn fine music. His best symphony par none his 6th sure the ninth and the fifth get a lot of attention but nothing comes close to the beauty in the sixth, i cried like a baby first time i herd this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZGb-Kjy0S0

Dvorak cello concerto is great the the second movement if so warm sounding. The cello candanza (when the cello is playing by its self) is jaw dropping. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-GlL_qlvBM&feature=PlayList&p=902A0156A8CC794D&index=44

i know i put out a lot of music but please given each a listen.
