Baird is not an asshole. He's just not a macho man. He's the most realistic personality in the game!

OT: If its in the game, and its not a glitch, its perfectly fair. Even if it is an over-powered weapon.
Even Akimbo 1887s?
Those were just completely overpowered weapons which if you were spotted first, you'd be dead.
How the fuck should I know? I didn't get MW2.

Apparently they were patched, and you now have to use perks and attachments to achieve the same effect, giving up other bonuses.
People won't care if they loose a blue perk, if they have 1887s with FMJ they do the exact same thing.
They need to fucking remove the whole dual wielding aspect.
one thing- Can you dual wield any type of SMGs?
All machine pistols and some SMGS (I know you can Dual Wield P90s and UMPs)
*rushes to buy game*

THANKS!

Spray and pray this, terrorist!

Either the guy is jealous because he is too much of a n00b to be able to use the abilities himself (trying to bring you down to his level), or he is able to use them and is trying to put you beneath him by convincing you to limit your own options. Either way it's poor form.

Don't let people make you feel that you are doing the wrong thing (when you are in the right), even in a local match or a friendly game, because it makes you look like a fool when you should be kicking their ass without mercy or hesitation. (Just don't use the same gun over and over because that IS a n00bish thing to do lol)

Gah, I hate that term with a passion.

On topic This isn't a ''noob'' theory, it's just people people need something to insult eachother over game features that they are not particularly skilled with. Active reloads rewards your timing and there's no reason why the other player shouldn't do it.

If there's a weapon that's easy to use, and you're killed by it the last thing you should to is call them a ''noob'' - You should learn how to counter it. I've heard of grenades stuck to doorframes. That does sound annoying, but hey. throw your own grenadea around.

That would be like calling someone a n00b for using Action Commands in Paper Mario. It just doesn't make sense.

Your friend is being an idiot. It's an in-game mechanic. If it was some glitch, then his argument would mean something, but choice of character and using a legit tactic doesn't make you a noob in any way.

whats wrong with using marcus?
Because he's the main character and if you're a newb/n00b then you haven't realised that the game has better characters. Regardless using Marcus has no effect on the game, so if people want to play as Marcus, that's up to them...

However, certain 'techniques' are definatly unfair and make it easy for n00bs to get kills they wouldn't've gotten otherwise.

Okay, so double tapping is a little unnecessary. A curb stomp is much more effective and awesome. Active reloads, on the other hand, were meant to be put in the game. They are not a glitch, but a game mechanic that rewards good timing. Your friend is probably complaining about people who use active reloads because he can't do one himself. Either that, or he's being a douchebag because he thinks he's too awesome at Gears to need to use active reloads. Anyway, active reloads are a legitimate game mechanic, and using them does not make you a noob.

Oh. Also, I'm a MW2 newb, yet I've never used any n00b techniques. I use Pain Killer, but that's only because Copycat's shit and I'm not a high enough level for anything else.

I have to go with "anything designed to be there is there by design."

Arguments go around in circles about this, really.

Laying mines in high traffic areas, grenade launchers, rocket launchers, etc. have always been called cheap because they often insta-kill. (I have even heard the argument applied to shotguns but I digress.)

However, those who complain about these weapons ignore their obvious disadvantages. You cannot be stealthy when firing an explosive. You cannot be fast when you are firing a bazooka. If one cannot identify and take advantage of a "noob" build, then I propose that, perhaps, the person complaining is the noob.

Active reload is not a n00b move, it's just another aspect of the game. Your friend is what I'd call a "Gears elitist" who thinks he's too good to take advantage of certain game features.

If there using say, a grenade launcher in MW2 constantly and doing nothing else. That's being a noob. Using cheap tactic over and over again.
