Being Rude

Back when I was in 2nd grade at age 7, I did something that got a reaction I didn't expect.

We had a lady come in that made wine glasses sing. Different notes and all that, by rubbing the edge. Anyway, gym class was coming up, and I was looking forward to it. So I said
"Can you please leave? We need to go to gym class."

Man I've never heard so many people gasp at me. Apparently what I did was considered rude, and the teacher made me write "I will not be rude in class" or something like that. The worst part of it was that nobody ever explained to me why that was rude, and I just wrote what my teacher told me without it having much effect.

I'm still like this, though now I'm more tactful. The direct approach is always the best.

Anyway, this thread is about you doing something other people consider rude. Especially if you don't think it is.

Yes, some people take offense from "the direct approach".

I prefer to be more subtle. Let the people work out for themselves that I insult them.

As much as I admire honesty, tact is also important. A friend of mine 'tells it straight' all the time and people tend to get quite annoyed at him.
If you're going to be rude, do it subtly. It's more amusing when people can't figure it out.

You should of told her that whilst you loved to watch her rimming, you needed to get to your next lesson.

Well, just because you said please, you still basically told her to fuck off.
You need to be careful with wording. People are retards, and blow their top over trivial shit.
Edit: damn, I was rude now.
But it was a good example of being blunt. Don't be. Only people who look like a bear can afford being blunt.

I just can't take the direct approach, too afraid of getting reactions like you got (or in other words: too afraid people won't like me). I'm very subtle, but always manage to get my point across or get what I want. I'm quite devious, but I'd love to be able to just be direct every now and then.

Oh god that would have made her day. Good thing I didn't know what that meant back then.

It's actually better to not say anything that could land you in trouble, but to look at them with such loathing that they feel uneasy and leave.

So are you saying I should join Politics?

If you can pull it off then great! I have mastered the political art of being able to talk about a topic in such a way as to leave all but the most attentive in such confusion (despite the fact what I am saying is correct) that they are unable to call me out on bits.

I had some paper and the teacher told me to put it in the bin. I asked, "where's the bin?" and everyone in the class made that stupid fucking "orrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!" noise when someone does something naughty when you were little. I said it in a neutral tone, so I don't understand why they got their little knickers in a twist. Saying that, my class were a bunch of twats.

Its interesting that a lot of people who lack any form of tact and are always extremely blunt seem to believe that they are better people for being 'honest' all the time.

That happened to me, except with my idiotic under graduate theology teacher.
I asked a valid question, and he treated me like a complete retard, so, instead of turning my paper in to the designated area, I drew a gigantic field of middle fingers and then put it on his desk.

Nearly in the middle of a conversation I stood up and told everyone hanging out in my room to get out.

"Alright it's late everyone geeeet the heck out"

It was 5AM and they showed no signs of leaving, I didnt' say it spitefully but I did want them out fast so I can just collapse and passout.

Haha, that's awesome. I should have done that.
Trouble was, this teacher was about 105 and was one of those teachers who could keep a class quiet without trying. She always talked about her cats too o_O

Yes it was rude. Well i'm sure you didn't mean to be rude but it still implied you were bored by her "performance"....but i think what your teacher did was stupid (yes ruuuuuuude) first of all you can't neccesarely expect a 7 year old to think like that and just giving you lines and not explaining why it was rude is the wrong aproach.
