But, to be honest, Malfurion always came across as way more of an asshole.

Well Illidan was a bit of a dick with the whole Well of Eternity fiasco which earned him 10,000 years in jail.

Plus Illidan had been gunning for Tyrande for years. Just imagine if your brother was trying to steal your girlfriend/wife/whatever. You would not be best pleased.
