As no one has mentioned it yet the ending of persona 3. That was a very bitter sweet moment, it has been a while since a game got me that invested in the characters.

When Eli Vance gets killed in Half-Life 2: Episode 2.

The way you kill Andrew Ryan in Bioshock.

I would have to say Boromir in Lord of the Rings for three reasons:

1. Even though he was kind of a jerk with the whole 'possessed by the power of the ring thing' but he still lays down his life to save Merry and Pippin the useless buggers
2. It took three freaking arrows to bring him down, and he was still decapitating orcs while at it
3. Before he died, he convinced that whiney girl-man Aragorn not to abandon Gondor and their people.
4. He is so damn cute ^^

i never thought so

the best death i have seen was on COD5 on the mission burn em out. My brother threw a grenade and it blew up a barrel, which sent someone flying with flames behind him and he hit the ground just before him.

That guy Teal'c blows by putting a bomb in his symbiote pouch up in the eisode of SG1 Talion.
"I am leaving, you are about to explode", its just classic.
And also the death of Arkad in the same episode.
When Maximus dies in gladiator-"who will help me carry him" Very moving
Danilov in enemy at the gates. I found that quite amusing.
And Provo from The Green Berets.

"Succeeding you. Father."
Loved that cinematic, now what else is there...
OH OH OH!
Delita in Final Fantasy Tactics and anyone who died in Fullmetal Alchemist always went out in an awesome or touching way

We watched this in English at School, during a comparison of Jaws and its self-elected spiritual sequel (read:shameless copy), Deep Blue Sea. I remember little about the film, apart from the most amusing death scene I've seen in a long time.

If memory serves, most of the class was incapacitated due to laughter for several minutes, especially when the teacher replayed it in slow-motion, then frame-by-frame...Good times.

Truth's death in Halo 3

Truth: "I...am...Truth... the voice of the covenant!"
Arbiter: "And so, you must be silenced."

Same thing happened to me. It gets lonely after a while without him.

-Jacob Carters Death from Stargate. Despite how rarely you see him, you grow attached to him and his death is just so saddening but very respectable.

-Doctor Frasier's death from Stargate was just one of the best shock moments ever since you don't find out she is dead until the end of the episode as they lead you to think it's O'Neill who's dead.

-Zack's death from Crisis Core. You KNOW he's gonna die by the end of the game if you've played FF7 but that doesn't lessen the impact when that moment comes. It's rather heart wrenching as he's really likable and you grow attached to him and his death is even more effective as you take control of him in his un-winnable battle seeing his memories flash before his eyes.

-Battlestar Galactica, Saul having to kill his wife because of conspiracy. THAT is a sad sad moment and having to see that brings about a wide range of emotions. You know it didn't have to go down that way but at the same time you kind of see it as the only way.

-Cid's death in FF6. A minor character but a very important one for Celes as he was her only family. His death led Celes to almost kill herself but it also led her to find new hope in reuniting everyone.

-Tetra's death in FFT, yea..FUCK YOU ALGUS!!

-Yagami Light's and L's death's from Death note. L's death was one big "OMG he actually did it!?" moment and Light's was just...wow. Seeing him break down like that and just the wide range of emotions presented throughout that scene was classic.

-Greed's and Lust's death from Full Metal Alchemist, both where quite sad.

-Spikes Death from Cowboy Bebop was awesome.

I'll leave it that for now.

For me the death of either kaiden or ashley in mass effect was very well done. The fact that you don't actually SEE it somehow made it more shocking, all you get is a brief radio transmission that's suddenly cut short.

When I killed the final "boss" in Fable 2, it was oh so satisfying to kill the man who killed my dog.
This too. Boy, was I pissed when he shot my dog.

One of my favourite death is in the movie wild wild west, when Bloodbath Macgrath gets killed. "Go to hell sir!" "After you, sir.."
