i want everyone who sees this to post their favorite game, but no exremely old games because we all know thats not true. now my favorite is prototype: be able to leap 10 story buildings glide over 6 more do it all again until you cant make it to the next building and slamming into the ground destroying everything around you is my definition of fun.

post your favorite game and why it is your favorite

EDIT: i know this has been done ALOT but that is the effect of boredom. also i said no old games becuase i didnt want a million replies saying: DUCK HUNT!!! or SUPER MARIO BROTHERS!!!

So, if someone's favourite game is an old game they're lying? That's the stupidest thing I've heard all day.

I don't have a favorite game of all time. I like different games for different reasons. I couldn't possibly choose an absolute favorite.

Why do I feel like I've said this before.

Mercenaries 1. I never actually completed the story. I just plugged me in some cheat codes and blew some stuff up. Seriously, this is how sandbox games that aren't based on car theft and gang wars should be.

It can be an old game Fool, its all to do with personal opinion or nostalgia, Mario is a testament to that.

as of late i have grown to have a love of Men of war, its like COH but i can actually run the damn thing even with it on all minimum settings "shock", damn vista.

M2:TW is also up their, i guess i just love my godamn RTS'S

SSX3,

Partly because when I got it I was unable to snowboard due to a broken leg so it was the next closest thing, and partly because the levels are so freaking gorgeous and seamless.

Oh come on. Can you honestly tell me that game had a good story? It was fun to play, but the story was incredibly stupid.

i dont have a favorite, i have several favorites but i have to be in the mood to play them, a few are Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, elder scrolls III morrowind, Star Wars Battlefront(when im in the mood to shoot and kill everything), and i hope to add borderlands to this list as im very excited for that game. im waiting for a truely great FPS to drop, i like halo, gears 2, and COD but im waiting for a better one.

I still load up Super Mario All-Stars every now and then to play SMB 2 and 3. If they're not my favorite games, they're pretty damn close. I've been replaying those two games for about 20 years. Don't tell me I cannot say they're my favorites.

Most, if not all, of my favorites involve crazy multiplayer matches with my Friends, so I'd say Star Wars: Battlefront II, Age of Empires II, Halo:CE, Bomberman 64, DOA3. So many memories.

Do I really have to ask why you memorized the Dr. Breen opening from HL2?

Yeah... why no old games? That is complete snobbish elitism. When is a game old? Can a game one year be any good? Two? Ten? Where is the line where an game couldn't POSSIBLER be good? I really like chess... modern chess is 500 years old. Or Go... at leats 2500 years old.

What is wrong with you?

Well just to spite you i say X-Com: Enemy Unknown. (Or UFO defense, depending on where you live). The atmosphere is awesome.

Ah well, Team Fortress 2 is good too (for storyless multiplayer) And Oblivion (heavily modded) for my "freedom needs". But there were so many games that were my favorite over the years. (And after a while they all become boring)

Perhaps he is being witty, given the context of the topic.

Also, I need to learn to use the scroll bar properly.
