Everything else is "meh".
I liked the first disc of X, but it got boring after that.

Going by my definition of FF generations
in 1-6 IV is my favorite
in 7-9 IX is my favorite
and in 10-13 X is my favorite

I couldn't drag myself through the entire 3 or 8, and I wasn't comfortable with the departure from tradition with 13. I don't feel like I should have to die 5 times simply to find out what the enemy is weak to Odin...

Kingdom Hearts 1 (It's a masterpiece of pure fun and action)
Crono Trigger (Best retro RPG EVER)
Mario RPG (...Come on, This HAS to make the list!)
Seiken Densetsu 3 (it's all the good stuff of Secret of Mana made 100 times better)

And I'm sure I'm forgetting a bunch of them.
Asking me to pick out a favorite is like asking me what part of my girlfriend I like best. It's just not something you can specify!

It's a toss-up between FF 6 and Chrono Trigger. Secret of Mana was also a strong contender.

Damn it was good to have a SNES back in the day.

Xenogears was also amazing and I so wish there was more. Xenosaga was OK but it wasn't Square.

that would have to be FF13! baaaah just kidding! It would be Final Fantasy Tactics Advance and then probably FF4 and both the numbered Kingdom Hearts. After looking at peoples answers it's made me realize that I need to go out and play more FF games sometime soon.

Oh definitely The World Ends With You. Perfect DS game that used all of the DS capabilities in a way that never felt tacked-on, and a story that really felt different for me.

This is a challenge. I like creating threads that cause mass controversy and anger among the commuinity > make people think .

My choice is Chrono Cross. Played Trigger but I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE MUSIC IN CRONO CROSS. I have never played a game were I'd actualy sit there just to listen to the ingame music.

Going with Kingdom Hearts on this one. Fantastic gameplay, engaging story, sympathetic characters. The second one was also pretty good, but not as good.

I agree, but i think the second was just as good.

Eh. It was still engaging and really fun, and added loads to the mythos. But it was... I don't know, lacking something.

Sora became more of a whiney puff in 2 than in 1 (but he was still alright in fairness), especially after you start out playing as Roxas who is a far cooler character, but I stil loved the game. I prefer a couple of abilities and how they're excecuted in 1 like errr... that one beginning with R and was something like Ragnarok. While I felt the addition of the Other Side and Nobodies greatly enhanced the story.

Now to carry on with our 8 year ish wait for Kingdom Hearts 3!

Be that as it may, Kingdom Hearts (one and two) is one of the only games ive ever become emotionally invested in.
