Mass Effect or Zone of the Enders 2. I only rented Z.O.E 2 but it was the best 8 bucks I've ever spent.

EDIT: I also rented God of War 2 mupltiple times in order to finish the story. Best 30 bucks ever spent.

I cant think of any game purchases I can think of as "best" but I can say the my old Xbox(not 360) is the best $500 I've ever spent. I lasted me 5 years(running almost literally 24/7) before finally dying on me.

And as a bonus it died right around this past Christmas so I was able to buy a 360 to replace it. Which is great fun when I can get the damn thing is working...

I got a 60 GB PS3 for less then half price second hand, with a two year warranty, 2 weeks after it came out. Apparently (Don't really believe it, but who cares) Someone bought themselves a PS3, and their mother bought them one to, and neither could find the receipts, so they had to give it back and get less then half price. I laugh at other peoples misfortune, ha ha ha.

I just bought Orange Box today, paid a measly $20 for it and it is no doubt the best twenty dollars I have spent. What is the best gaming purchase you have ever made? A game that you paid very little for and was fantastic? A game you dont think you will ever stop playing?

(On a side note, please go out and get Orange Box, a fantastic bunch of games for only $20!)

I paid about a tenner for it, best fucking ten quid I ever spent.

2nd.Upgrading from a 17" LCD monitor (used the MS VGA HD pc cable for my 360) to a Dell 24" widescreen for my desktop.
Running my 360 in 1080p(also has a HDMI port on the monitor,also 2xDVI-D,analog,composite,DisplayPort,etc)
3rd.Upgrading my 20GB 360 HD to a 120GB HD

Monkey Island Bounty Pack - £2, mint condition from Cash Converters.

Oh, and a Sega Saturn - for the price of a postcard and stamp. Won it in a Nickelodeon competition. Came with a bag of goodies, and a copy of the cr*p 'Club Sega' music CD. Only the CD had no printed side, and I didn't recognise any of the tracks on it.

Put it in the Saturn - turned out to be a copy of Virtua Fighter 2! Thanks Sega!
