Sorry if someone already said this but my favorite moment is, easily, the dark brotherhood quest where you're required to infiltrate the mansion and kill the guests one at a time. It's so great convincing the warriors that you're not the bad guy and watch as they kill the old lady (that's how it always plays out for me. anyways.)

The quest for the Dark Brotherhood where you have to eliminate everyone in a locked house without them knowing you're the assassin, my final kill was awesome. Snuck up on him with sufferthang and o.h.k him, he seemed to, in slow motion, do a barrel roll over the railing on the second floor and as he came full circle made eye contact with me as he fell to the ground floor. :D

I took my Adoring Fan to the top of a mountain (I can't remember what the Mountain was...it's near where you find that Nord camp-site and probably was where I ended up)

Anyway: many people find fun, inventive ways to murder their Adoring Fan but I just pushed his ass over the edge of the cliff and watched him fall. It was pretty satisfying...I did the same to a horse or two and that was also kinda funny.

"Stop right there criminal scum! You're days of crime are over! Now pay the fine or go to jail!"

Everyone who was little overpowered compared to their level had this moment, resisted arrest, and became the most power-hungry douchebag in the entire game.

And we LOVE IT.

My favorite moment was when I finally got 100 in restoration, and I made a bunch of +Intelligence and +Willpower spells to drastically increase my magicka, then cast a +300 speed spell that made me run like the Flash.

Oh god, how can you pick one moment out of like 300 hours of gameplay...

Umm let's see... *SPOILERS*

One of my favourite missions was the "Who dun it? from the Dark Brotherhood, it was just too fun.

One of the saddest was finding the ruined remains of the Mages Guild in Bruma (kind of pissed I didn't buy all the rare spells beforehand...)

Most shocking was finding out about the drug-induced slaughtering of an entire village in that Fighter's Guild quest.

Most badass moment was when I was chasing Falcar or whoever the Mages Guild defect was, he was about to run away which would have lead me on this huge chase but I just fired off this overly strong shock blast and it hit him square in the back from quite a distance, slumped him dead on the stairs.

Oh there's too many more, and way more to come in Skyrim!

The time when I finally stopped playing the main quest because I got so tired of the damn oblivion gates.

Those two missions in the Dark Brotherhood. The fun ne and the sad one. Don't pretend you don't know what I am talking about.
Yes, dark brotherhood is what sticks with me years later.

Ahh way too true, my 2nd run-through I just raised my killing skills and made some deadly spells and weapons, I think my bounty is about 800,000+ and growing.

I remember a very specific moment where my character was an orc, and I tried hand-to-hand combat just to mix it up a bit. After enchanting my equipment to give some ridiculious bonus's, I finally went into the first oblivion gate. After getting to the top I came across that deadric warrior who's just cocky and very shouty
"YOUR BLOOD IS FORFEIT, YOUR FLESH IS MINE!"
*Punch to the face, staggers back, follow up punch, dead*

It's not my most impressive moment, but because I hadn't played the game much at this point (I've logged far too many hours to remember exactly, but about 300 by now whereas at that point it was only 10 or so), it's the one that's stuck into my mind the most.

Mine must been one of the statue quest, pitted two families that had founded a village against each other where only one of the families came out alive. I felt like such a bastard after that.

"Whodunnit" on the Dark Brotherhood quest. Seriously, everyone says that mission is awesome. That's because it is. Especially when you can talk to one of the last two remaining people, convince them to kill the other, and then talk to them again and reveal that you're the killer.

I'm a sick bastard, yes.

The first time I got out of the sewer after captain Picard/deputy director Bullock is killed by the bad guys.

Looking over the water, the abandoned fort on the other side of the lake, and turning around to see the Imperial Palace high up in the sky. I still remember that bewildering amazement I felt! Little did I know this wonderful world would suck me in for 400+ hours of absolute bliss. And still occasionally does!

Also my first meal was rat meat. Had no idea what it did.

For me it will always be walking into the corrupted forest from the Unique Landscapes mod. I was so god damn afraid of the wisps thats I just stood crouched in one of the ruined houses hoping they wouldn't see me.

And then I found a unicorn, and rode it to freedom.
On a similar note, going to the coral reef in Elsweyr to kill a shark for the hunter's guild, thinking "I've killed loads of sharks before, this'll be a cake walk", then finding out that the dread shark is about 10 times the size of a great white shark, and just as unhappy to see me.

Shivering Isles

@Silent-Treatment

You only needed to close 3 gates in order to finish the main questline. (Kvatch, Bruma and the big one in Bruma) All the others were not needed.

Getting 100% chameleon armour and walking through a level. Particularly the big gate at Bruma, just walking past all the enemies and completing a 20 minute level in 2

Same here! It was dusk when I first got out, and I was totally awestruck by the dual moons in the sky, the fact that they moved, the music, the atmosphere ... it was amazing! :D

I then went to Chorrol, went into the small chapel outside the city, had myself blessed at the alter and then ransacked the place! >:-}

OT: I think the two moments that stick with me the most was during that one Fighter's Guild quest where you had to take that Dark Elf guy into the ruins near Leyawiin and when I killed the guy at the end of the dungeon (it's been a while) he fell over onto his fours, slid over a bit and then laid flat on the floor! What made it great was that it was that it wasn't a pre-programed death animation; it was just a once-in-a-lifetime thing! :D

The second best Oblivion moment was when I got my first mod working! :D

Two times I must mention. First was hen I saw the Kvatch gate. It actuslly made me shiver with fear.
Second was when I was walking to the Imperial City from Leyawiin. It was dusk, and as I turned a corner, I could see the whole Imperial City, with he dusk sun settling behind it. Most beautiful view ever.

when the emporor died
that shocked me considering he's voiced by patrick steward
and in retrospect it was a really good moment

the first time i cast a ludicrous reinforce acrbatics spell and jumped over the cheydenhal wall

turinging off clipping (so i could wal on air and through the world geometry) and jogging from dive rock to the top of the white gold tower

swimming in lava

first hearing the name jygalag and mishearing it
i was 13-14 at the time

I've gotta say my best moment was when I had an epiphany, and decided to fudge all the rules and create a speed/water-walking spell, on touch, take a moment to think why...

So if you guessed I made a horse (Shadowmere to be exact) that could run on the damn water, and very bloody fast, screw you bears and road bandits, atronachs and wolves.

With the rather crappy effects given to armour and weapons in custom enchanting and the whole level scaling issue(note I really love the levelling system in oblivion and hearing people complain is right up there with complaints of npc voicing, it gets old hearing about it until it becomes white noise) being on console and having a horse that walks on water was one of the best triumphs of the game for me, I suppose also was the way I decided to make thousands of situational spells too (charm 100pts, speech/merc 100pts self) and such just really made the game the best thing ever to me
