I have become very curious as to what exactly the BEST QUESTS EVAR really are.
My Favorite is a bit in Oblivion, when you are locked in a house with several people, and you aren't aloud to leave until you kill the other guests one by one quietly. You stab them in the back and make them betray each other as they search for the true killer, and then you kill the final survivor just as they realize "YOU!? YOU ARE THE KILLER?". BEST...QUEST...EVAR!

This quest never gets old to me, and inspired me to search for more "BEST QUESTS EVAR!"

Tell me, what is your BEST QUEST EVAR and what game does it come from? (you can post multiple if you must.)

Ninja'd by the OP

That quest is always my favorite, I've started a new character on Oblivion several times just for that part of the Dark Brotherhood

The Conrad Verner quest in Mass Effect 2 gets me every time, as does the conversation with the Asari bar-maid.
"Sorry, no sex, just cleaned the bar."

I just played a really cool quest tonight in the Cataclysm expansion for World of Warcraft:

You go into this big lava-filled cave. You have to grab a lance and then jump onto a hippogryph mount. Unlike regular mounts, you have to spam a command to make it flap it's wings to stay aloft and move forward, or else you'll plummet into the lava below. You have to fly around the cave in this manner, destroying eggs on platforms and knocking enemies out of the air with your lance.

Any Hitman quest is awesome. I love that it's so tactical, and how replaying doesn't grow old, as you refine your plan and timing each time.

I suck at Hitman, but that's beside the point...

That Oblivion quest definitely gets my vote. So much fun.

For other quests, I really liked the battle of Calvert Mansion in Fallout 3: Point Lookout. The player is heavily outnumbered and must fight off waves of enemies. The waves are so large that it leaves piles of bodies lying around, since bodies in Fallout 3 don't fade away like they do in most games.

I like the quest in Oblivion with the Deep Ones, forget what it's called, but you have to rescue that Argonian chick. Maybe I'm just a sucker for HP Lovecraft references. Oh and on a slightly related note, my least favorite quest is the Deep Roads Mission from Dragon Age: Origins.

This WoW quest where you have to get 8 goretusk livers for a pie. Oh man, that quest is fun...
I just love having to find the actual animal, then kill it, and then to top it off, the surprise and orgasmic joy of actually finding a liver! There should really be a run-through on youtube...

Oh man that quest was awesome. I heard or read about it, and it sounded so fun I then went home and played Dark Brotherhood quests until I got to that one. Good times.

Yeah, that quest was genius. I love all the different ways you can piss people off and make them suspect and kill each other if you try. It's beautiful. Poetry in motion.

I'm sure I'll come up with another quest I loved later, but I'm drawing a blank right now, sorry.

I like the Sanguine one in Oblivion where you have to cause chaos at the fancy dinner party thrown by the countess of Leyawiin by making everyone's clothes disappear. It's just so childish yet so evil.

Same as the OP,just loads of fun to watch everyone get slightly more paranoid as things go tits up.

Other than that, the Play and The Foreigner quests in Jade empire were fairly enjoyable as well.

I loved For Auld Lang Syne in Fallout: New Vegas, after all of that work to get him to open up, he gives you this quest which is quite heart rending.

Followed up by I Forgot to Remember to Forget...that too is sad.

I agree, the OPs offering is one of my personal favorites.

I also am very fond of the "Tranquility Lane" line of quests in Fallout 3. A very well crafted sequence. Given tranquility lane and the whodunit in Oblivion, I was kind of dismayed that there wasnt something similar in New Vegas.(at least I didnt encounter it during my one half assed run through while playing it on a rental, but it isnt a part of the main story arc)

I recently tried Cataclysm on a trail account and the Redridge Questline cracked me up. Basically; Redridge is threatened by an unstoppable force of Gnolls and Orcs and the only person that could possibly save them is John. J. Keeshan, but to make him fight you have to gather his old squad and get his personal possessions which includes; his bow, his bowie knife, a jade amulet and his red headband. The awesomeness that follows is extraordinary.

That, and 'saves me having to beat him to death with his own spine, that tends to put off the customers.' I hope she comes back in third game :D
