With the current generation consoles being so powerful with fantastic graphics and physics, what is the best game. A game unique and will be remembered for a long time

I don't know if this is sarcasm in any way, but the game is called Fallout 3.

I know...I figured that everyone knows about it, so it was a moot point to mention. It certainly does appear to be more popular then Oblivion, which is saying something. Anyways, Its a great game, too. I just didn't like it as much as Oblivion, so I decided to spend my time playing Oblivion instead of finishing Fallout 3.

I have a personal grudge against it for not living up to my hopes, too. I had high hopes for it, and it didn't meet them. Fable 2, I had low hopes for, and enjoyed it more for what it was.

As I believe:
"Fallout 3 is a 1/10 compared to Oblivion, and a 10/10 compared to every other game."

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. Scientifically proven to be the best game ever.

I reckon Cod4. Oh and if anyone even suggests GTA or Halo I will castrate them using a pair of rusty hedge clippers.

CoD 4 seems to show no signs of letting up in terms of online players, so guessing it'll be remembered.

GTA4. I don't care what you say. I spent my summer break on free mode with friends.

I think its a bit early to be declaring the best game ever for this generation considering this generation isn't over yet. To play along Iam going to say Mass Effect.

The game I had the most fun playing on this newest generation of consoles is Assassin's Creed. Yeah, even despite the flaws in combat and repetitive side missions. I never really got sick of leaping across the rooftops or making a mad dash from a thousand guards only to leap into a topiary and wave my ass at them while they scratched their noses and wondered where on earth I'd gone. It was screaming good fun, and the closest thing to a pure stealth game we've had in a long time (no love for the stealth genre lately, and that's a real shame).

Oblivion and Fallout3...what can I say? As a fan of Morrowind, I thought neither lived up to their potential. They both seemed like retreads of familiar territory, and neither captivated by attention for very long. Bad voice acting in Oblivion, a touted and ultimately underwhelming choices system in Fallout, and bland open worlds in the both of them made me chalk both of these up as colossal disappointments. There were elements of good games in them, but surrounded by a sea of bad dialogue and pointless side quests. Honestly, the faction missions in Morrowind were all unique and entertaining. In Oblivion...I just couldn't bring myself to care about these flat, lazy NPCs. In Fallout 3, it felt like the game wanted to be a FPS but had the trappings of an RPG. So if you didn't play as gunman, you better go back to the beginning and strap up because you're going to DIE. So much for choices.

I think Half-Life 2 will be remembered for a long time to come. My personal favourite would be Wii sports.... just kidding.

Somebody has gotta say it...Halo 3 *raises flame shield* Now this is if we are talking about games that will be remembered, the "best" argument can never truly be commented on as Best is far too subjective.

The Halo Series (even if you hate it you can't deny it). Probably the GTA series and the Guitar Hero Series.

When it comes out I'm gonna bet on Final Fantasy 13, if only because it overshadows nearly every other game I've ever seen in terms of spectacle.

Halo 3.

The stats prove it.

Halo 3 is the most played game with the most unique gamertags playing it, and most time clocked into it.

Otherwise World of Warcraft. But PC's are still 1st gen :p
