Somebody has gotta say it...Halo 3 *raises flame shield* Now this is if we are talking about games that will be remembered, the "best" argument can never truly be commented on as Best is far too subjective.

Halo 3 is the most played game with the most unique gamertags playing it, and most time clocked into it.

Otherwise World of Warcraft. But PC's are still 1st gen

Mass Effect. It's made of pure awesome as a result of a secret formula that uses a truly fascinating universe, interesting characters, exciting gameplay, mostly brilliant voice acting and some terrible design flaws a game must have for me to fall for. Talk about games growing up to become emotionally involving experiences, and you have to mention this one.

Also, I don't give a damn about generations, I'm from the PC camp. That's the place where the truly intricate task of defining game generations by the impact of single games was recently abandonded in favor of adapting the consoletards generation counting.

There really are some great ones in here, I can't argue with COD4 or Fallout 3, they are both great (yeah, Halo 3 is overrated, but I still love it, but I'll keep it off this list), However, what about Mass Effect? I had a few bugs, but it really was a great game, when **Spoiler** died, I came back to my ship, went to make my rounds talking to everyone and was genuinely sad when they weren't there any more... at any rate, that is my humble opinion.

Best games are not decided by the people with the loudest voices and the best designed websites, but rather the users and people who play them. And with Halo 3 being the most played game of Last Year, and being a close contender for the year before having only been released 3 months prior to the end of the year. I think so far Halo is the best 7th gen game.

Umm... Bioshock. I can't believe that no one even mentioned it... It's by far the best game of this generation, followed by Call of Duty 4 (They're good for different reasons).
