Firefly. Need I say more?
Right every time.

Mine: House, Castle, Burn Notice, Life, Lie To Me and Stargate: Universe even though Channel 10 only showed 4 or so episodes.

If you're not saying "The Wire", I can only assume it's because you haven't seen it, or you thought you saw it and were in fact watching reruns of "Hill Street Blues". Seriously guys, this is a one show race. It wasn't just the best show of the decade. It was the best show ever made.

Honorable mentions: The Sopranos, The Office (BBC), Arrested Development, Battlestar Galactica, Deadwood, Six Feet Under

At the risk of getting flamed and demonstrating my ignorance on most live-action TV, Avatar the Last Airbender. It was the show that really caught my interest, had great animation, a story far more epic than a Nick show with a fairly cliche premise has any right to, and an assortment of "holy shit this is freakin' awesome" moments.
Avatar rocks, One of the best shows I have ever seen, and I say this with a straight face.

Ahh... I did leave off It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia and Arrested Development. Bad move on me.

Best trend of the decade: THE LAUGH TRACK IS DYING!!!!
Comedy is my favorite genre (for this reason: if something makes me laugh, I can watch it over endlessly and it never loses its charm) but I've always hated the laugh track. It generally makes for lazy writing and is insulting to the audience. Only a few shows I've seen with laugh tracks are genuinely and consistently funny (NewsRadio and...Sanford and Son, Red gets to me). I've heard that How I Met Your Mother is an exception, but I've not given it a chance. The laugh track is just annoying, though. Begone, I say.

I have been pretty bleh about shows of the past decade or so, pretty much I am fairly active. Recently though I really have gotten into TNT's Southland [http://youcastcorp.com/c/87/go/index.php?r=0], it used to be on NBC and TNT recently picked it up.

I wouldn't have heard much about it, save that work has some marketing campaigns for the show going so I was exposed to it and really liked it.
