Us (were I am from) invented the internet..

none of you would be able to post here if it wasn't for the united states scientists!
(British guy Tim Berners-Lee not the usa)

OT: usa, canada, australia? (we kinda 'made' them)

also what are we speaking....
no actually you are wrong.. he is not British (well technically he was), the moment he became a citizen of the united states and had residency, he became known as an american, which was far before he made the internet. Disagree? well then, all the big achievements made by the united states belonged to other countries then, except those made by Native Americans.

Known for Inventing the World Wide Web
Title Professor

Parents Conway Berners-Lee, Mary Lee Woods

From that wikipedia page you linked us to, 4th line says, and I quote: "Nationality: British"

This means he is British, not American. Just throwing that out there for you.
... He is a US citizen, your comment is null and void

Umm...

I don't really know.

None of my favourite films, TV-shows, books or bands come from Finland (Except the progressive rock/punk band Hassisen Kone, which is only my 4th favourite band and they seperated many years ago).

Uhh, can anyone tell me what is in their opinion the best thing Finland did? I can't think of any.
Best thing Finland ever did is let HIM loose on the world. I love you, Finland.

OT: Wales... Well, we've got an awesome rugby team (even though most of my mates only watch the Welsh team to oggle big burly men wrestle in the mud...)

Oh yes; Pot Noodles.
We win.

BY that rational Scotalnd claism Darwin, because he was educated in Edinburgh.
No actually I don't know were you pulled THAT rational from, but it doesn't even matter, since he wasn't american. By the way he was born in England and died in England..

Yet the informative years & the chains of thought that led to creation of the concept were formed in his educational years in Scotland.
First of all, I thought it was in the Galapagos were he got the gave evidence to the idea of evolution, were he thought a lot of it out. (I hope you know he did not invent the idea of evolution, if you didn't you have no right to argue what so ever)

Second, who cares, he still isn't american. You prove nothing again.

Well 'inventors' like Søren Kierkegaard, H.C. Andersen, H.C. Ørsted, Niels Bohr, Georg Brandes.

Coolest countries in my book:
My heart says Russia(Mostly for literature, and them being the main part in the victory over the nazi germans in WW2(not that I agree with the acts against humanity they committed, but they did stop the nazi's of which I am grateful)
My mind says Germany(Mostly for philosophy/literature)

The best thing America ever did? It produced the Bill of Rights and the Constitution. After that it's pretty much been downhill. I guess if it weren't for us yanks Stalin would have owned the world.
1) No, the bill of rights was based on European laws and systems, the Dutch being one of them.
2) The war was all but over when you guys finally decided to come this way, Ruski beat Ze Germans hard and resistance was wearing them down.
1. Everything's based off something else, we were the first to implement ideas like that into a workable government. I'm not trying to belittle European contributions to democracy, as the Magna Carta is probably the most important document in AD democracy.

2. Who would have stood up to Stalin after WW2? Russia was mobilized, and Stalin didn't want those veterans coming home. They could have steamrolled Europe. England was even more exhausted than the Russians, having fought the Nazis for longer and with less resources. There was no other power that could have resisted Russia. The US would have had trouble if not for the bomb. America's greatest contribution in WW2, aside from supplying the Allies, was keeping Stalin in check afterwards,

And to everyone saying America's greatest achievement was going to the moon, it was an empty spectacle. What good has ever come of those moonwalks. I know the space program has made some important contributions, but actual manned lunar missions don't achieve squat. That's why we don't do it anymore.
