Best Valve Game?

The first Half-Life (and the expansions). It's been getting progressively worse since then, with the exception of Portal.

My favourite is probably Half Life 2. I just love the whole theme of a band of rebels fighting against an oppressive empire. Has kinda the same appeal as the original star wars trilogy I guess.

Though Left 4 Dead and Team Fortress 2 are excellent passtimes.

I'm going to cheat a little and say the orange box since it has so many great games in one convenient package.

Half-Life 2 was probably the best. The 2 episodes following shortly after. Half life one, would probably come in after those, Portal, then L4D. Haven't really gotten into TF2 or CS yet.

Episode 2 is their best yet, despite its length.

Yeah I'll agree with this man. I always felt episode 1 just felt a little bit "empty" with only five "levels" and the first 2 were a bit meh (next 3 levels were all awesome thought). Whereas episode 3 felt like a mini block buster and the vehicle sections was awesome, with no weapons it made it feel more frantic with the only kills you get are from running over zombies. And then the really cool "stealth" bit to take out the autogun; something immensely cool about crawling around watching zombies get cut in half and set on fire

Portal, C'mon people it's not rocket science!!

Well, yeah.

I never played the Steam Version.
Therefore, I am not in a position to judge it.

It's close between TF2 and Portal, but Portal's just too short and replaying it doesn't seem as fun.
And I suck at Half-Life, so it stops being good pretty fast.

I haven't played Left 4 Dead, but that does look fun...
