Clever Girl.......Also am I the only person who is still struggling to tell which of the human races is which?
It goes:

Breton (pale skin, delicate faces)
Imperial (more swarthy and Mediterranean looking)
Redguard (dark skinned. Holy crap those Redguard chicks look badass)
Nords (large and broad featured)

You know, I never noticed how wrong it was that the super pale people are completely overpowered. Can we say 'master race' (joking, joking, seriously joking)

Unfortunately, I'm not too keen on my normal favourite race (Altmer) but on the flipside.. holy crap, the Bosmer look terrifying. I will never laugh at their pathetic size and stupid racial abilities again.. they look like they'd shoot me in the face if I ever dared. :S

The graphics are better, but as faces go, they don't look as good as Oblivion.
Look at the Dark Elf, that's not a face...

I'm still going to play and love the game of course.
You...might want to have another look at Oblivion. Not only were the faces in there strange and bloated-looking, but in terms of structure it was impossible to tell one race from another. Nearly all of them looked like they were designed by someone who had very limited artistic ability and knowledge of the human(oid) face.

It's clear that in this case, they really put some work into making the races look different, as they should. I admit the elves are a bit creepy looking, but the fact that they can't be mistaken for humans is very much a good thing. And the Dunmer, specifically, were clearly remodeled to look like their Morrowind versions:

So overall I think this is a massive improvement.

Why you all look so mad?

but seriosuly, a smile would hurt the faces of these characters. the Nords are a bunch of alcohol loving barbarians. sure, there's a time for war and plunder, but for joyous celebrations and mead, too!

I'm gonna wait for those creative minds at nexus to create some really interesting mods for my characters =3

For those that still cannot tell the races apart (which was pretty straightforward for me to be honest), here's the hint - they're sorted in alphabetical order, except for Nords, which are on the two last pics.

So: Argnonian, Breton, Dunmer (or Dark Elf), High Elf, Imperial, Khajiit, Orc, Redguard, Wood Elf, Nord.

So there.

Also - in my opinion elven races look best of all the TES games to date, and I've played them all (my Arena floppy disks say so at least). No more jaundiced, glowing Altmer, no more tame looking Dunmer, no more muppet-show Bosmer!

...so good in fact that it made me consider choosing a different race this time, other than my beloved Breton.

PS: Also don't mind all of them looking gruff the slightest... in my opinion the over-sweetened, mangoid modifications really don't work well in TES. Besides I'm fairly certain that with this system there's going to plenty of room for making your character's apparent sex as ambiguous as you want...

I'm totally in love with the male Khajiit, second row, right in the middle. He's got such a cheeky hidden grin and looks cocky as anything, he's just brimming with personality. :D

A few observations - the orcs are bloody scary looking, and the Nords are surprisingly beautiful. Also, I agree with everyone else that the Khajiit women are a little too long-necked.

If you directly compare the Breton and Imperial women, side-by-side, there is quite a lot of difference. The Imperials have very strong and defined features, whereas the Bretons look more delicate and reserved (scholarly, I think someone said before). If you don't look at them together it's quite difficult to tell the difference, though. But then there will be the height difference in-game.

I really like how each of these characters look like they actually have a story and a personality. It's very promising.

The weird thing is, I'm starting to get angry whenever more news of Skyrim comes out.

It just serves as a reminder of the two and a half months of waiting I have left.

Still, these faces are pretty awesome. A nice improvement from Oblivion

EDIT: Snipped because of stupid internets double posting. Much sorries.

Umm, why did my post go away?

Anyway, the top far right orc looks like Kong.

I really like these. It'll be nice to play a game without having to download user made mods to pretty it up. Not to say that some of these are pretty, but they look good.

And i see people commenting on the long necked-ness (heh, nekkid) of the female Khajit. I think they were angling for a sort of Egyptian look for them.

Yikes! One of the nords (the very first one) looks so much like brother it's kind of frightening.

Meh, I don't care about pre-sets I never use them, as a rule, ever.
Your brother is WWE's Edge?

As if I couldn't get any more hyped for this game! :D Finally, we have beards in an Elder Scrolls game (not counting Sheogorath.)

I really needed these screens, especially since I won't be getting Battlefield 3 now because Origin, come to find out, lets EA spy on you. Biggest letdown of '11! >:'-(

Why do they all look like they've had dirt thrown at their face?

To be honest the majority look pretty horrible.

My only big problem with the pictures is that many of the characters seem to have incipent black eyes (they look reddish and swollen around the undereye area). Other than that, good. But I keep feeling like these characters were just in some massive bar brawl before their headshots were taken.

All the negative comments here seem to be from people expecting Final Fantasy-esque faces.

This is set in the cold, grim north. No time for skin cream, hair gel, and lotions.

You summed up my thoughts perfectly. For this I thank you.

OT: The argonians look SWEET. I get a serpent vibe form them and I am very keen to play this game.
